Two of a Kind - Biography of Chris & James Gowans
Well know SANFL free-lance journalists Robert Laidlaw and Steve Barrett have co-written the Biography of Chris and James Gowans...
The book is called 'Two of a Kind' and will be officially be released the night of April 13th when Central host Norwood at Elizabeth...
The Twins will be in attendance at the book launch to sign copies as well...
The club is taking pre-orders so get in early as to not miss out. They are $30.00 each which is great value for money...
A must have for all SANFL supporters, not just Central District ones...
Here is an extract that the local messenger did from the book...
http://digitaledition.nrmessenger.com.au/#folio=18
I must say, I have been lucky enough to have a sneak peek at the book and there is some fantastic stuff in there...
It will be a great read, guaranteed. Well done to Rob and Steve for their efforts as well...
Here is a link from Central's homepage about the book and options for pre-ordering your copy:

You obviously don't remember Gary MacIntosh king hitting a 16 year old kid named Stuey Dew back in the 90's?over the line wrote:No doubt, probably a few chapters about how the methods they used to snipe our (and every other team's) younger players
Anyway, enough of the cliche Gowans' snipes, can we keep this thread for plugging the book, not bagging the twins?

It'll be a great read and I can't wait. As much as they played for the opposition, I loved watching them play. I only wish we had them at Richmond Oval!!

I know that Doug Thomas was chasing the twins prety hard. I'm pretty sure there is a bit in the book about the day Doug Thomas rang the boys back home in Anglesea, trying to sign them. Kris Grant was actually at the boys house when Dou rang, I think?

I think more like Michael Taylor was chasing them hard and Doug didn't want to spend the money.

Re: Two of a Kind - Biography of Chris & James Gowans
stu dew complaining about underhanded stuff is a bit rich. once a bloke gets on the field, then age shouldn't matter at all. if age is a problem, then the kid should stay with the kids if they dont want what the big boys deal out.
on the topic, should be a great read, the boys will be missed around the league

Re: Two of a Kind - Biography of Chris & James Gowans
wouldn't ANYONE complain about being smashed in the face, thus breaking the jaw, whilst lying on your back, completely defence-less? Or is this acceptable behaviour at your club.
