Re: James Boyd
As stated a number of times over the past three weeks, no surprise at all. A club still to finalise their coaching situation already circling.

Glenelg, of course. The only club to yet finalise their coaching situation...eartotheground wrote:As stated a number of times over the past three weeks, no surprise at all. A club still to finalise their coaching situation already circling.
Which ever club is interested will probably need close to $100K free to finance both his salary and the transfer fee...

Glenelg is definitely the only club to not have their coach confirmed for 2014?Big Phil wrote:Glenelg, of course. Re: James Boyd
Pretty sure when he left South the clearance fee to the Dogs was 30k +...surely the dogs would want to cover that.

I'm with you regarding Boyd and $100k. He must have been on a very good salary

I've heard $50K salary and about $40K for the clearance...Flag No.9 wrote:Close to 100K? What was he on out there BP? 65K or something?Big Phil wrote:Glenelg, of course. Re: James Boyd
A salary to one player of $50K would be almost impossible to fit in the salary cap, without employment or other incentives outside it.

Re: James Boyd
To me this suggests a shift in philosophy from Roy and co. Previously the Dogs would back themselves to run ahead of the play and with good reason, they were near impossible to beat when they did this during their Golden reign. I would suggest the focus on the defensive aspect means the likes of Norwood and West have altered plans in the current era. Or perhaps the coach and player just didn't get along but had to make it sound like an amicable split.

Very much so IMO, He was leading vote getter in the 2012 Magarey medal but was ineligible because he was reported during the season so we all know he can play--They had to make the split sound good for the SANFL audience me thinks .
