James Allan
Stephen Rowe mentioned earlier on 5AA that he has heard Jimmy told North he will not be playing for the Roosters next season. If true, will be interesting to see whether or not he gets back from injury in time to play in finals and have a 'farewell game' ???
Any North fans heard anything on this?

Yes, I heard this rumour just after the end of last season. This was supposed to be Allan's final year, that's why they gave him the captaincy, etc, etc, etc .... but there's been a lot of water under the bridge since then and people have been known to change their minds. I'll believe it if/when Allan makes an announcement.

Not really an old story - Jimmy was on ABC TV last weekend saying that at that stage he still hadn't made his mind up. I have a feeling he'll head home at the end of this season but do hope he gets to play again so the North fans can give him a fitting farewell, should that be the case.

A bit like the Gowans boys Big Phil? They've been "going home" for 8 years!

I see your point, AH
The Gowans' boys will retire at the end of the year, no doubt about that, but I don't think they will be 'going home' for a while yet. Both have married SA girls, have their building business going well and haven't harboured a desire to go back home to play with their brother and mate, like Allan has.
