Chris & James Gowans Tribute Dinner
As many would know, Chris and James Gowans have announced they are playing on again in season 2012 but this time, it will be there last season, for sure.
The club is honouring the twins by having a tribute 'Gowans Roast' in a couple of weeks which is being touted as one of the the biggest events on the Central District Football Club calendar for 2012.
That being said, the club is hoping to have as many people as possible there from a broad range of people in attendance, not just Central fans.
If you have admired the twins for the way they go about their footy or the fantastic off field work they do with Novita Childrens Charity or you just love them for the characters they are, then make sure you book yourslef a ticket for the 'Roast'.
The event will be hold on the Saturday night of the 25th of February so it is only a couple of weeks away now. Tickets are available through the club (RSVP by Monday 20/2/12 on 8255 2555) at $85 per person for a 3 course meal and 5 hour drinks package.
Guest speakers on the night will re-cap and share stories about their football journey and include their father, fellow players from Central over their journey, opposition players, coaches and even Umpires.
MC’d by Mark Soderstrom, it will be a very fun and enjoyable night for all in attendance. It should be one of the SANFL's most fun events of the year, but with a serious tribute side.
The event is being held at Findon to make it a central location for all people to attend and given the characters that are the Gowans Brothers (and their assistance with promoting the SANFL over the journey) the club sees this as an event not just for Doggies fans, but for anyone that follows SANFL footy.
There are already some people from other Clubs attending the night so it’s certainly open for everybody. Love them or hate them for their white line fever, the twins are certainly characters both on and off the field.
