Another HUGE blow for the Dogs, losing Ryan Williams, who is returning home to Vic...

Let's hope they get a proof reader before their next announcement.

Maybe the club will recall the release and then send it out again, correctly, like Westies did the other week with the Brad Helbig announcement?

Congratulations to Ryan Williams on a great SANFL career. Probably had his best season last year and leave the Dogs with a very good football resume.

Luke Thompson, Alex Spina and James Battersby delisted by Adelaide Crows this afternoon...
http://www.triplem.com.au/melbourne/sport/afl/news/2014/10/adelaide-crows-delist-luke-thompson-alex-spina-and-james-battersby/
While Thompson is a Melbourne boy, I'm sure the Eagles will want to have a chat with him, seeing as though he is a Premiership player there and had a great relationship with the club.
No doubt North and Sturt respectively will be hoping Spina and Battersby, who I thought played some very good SANFL footy this year, will return to their former clubs...

I missed that one, Phil.
What happened?
(Doesn't make much difference to the mauling the English language took in the Central's announcement, but I agree that most clubs aren't much better).

I haven't seen enough of Spina to comment on him, but I must say I'm very surprised that Battersby has been delisted, after such a short time with the Crows. I think both lads have shown enough in the SANFL and are young enough, to be worth persevering with. I'm quite sure they'll go back into the draft and I'd be very surprised if they don't get another chance somewhere. Obviously If that doesn't happen, Sturt will welcome Battersby back with open arms.

Not many of our clubs are good at this stuff but that release is a shocker. What amazes me is that clubs don't appreciate how B grade these things make them look.

I liked the way he played the game Phil, he will be hard to replace for the dogs.

Yes, lazy posting on my behalf .. Wrote as I'd say it, with OK actually being better than that. Not the star of some of his colleagues during the Dogs golden run, but tough and dependable, so good player for a number of years.

Recruiting is a very interesting process to be involved with.
Working out needs is the easiest part, then it's identifying players, contacting them, making offers, trying to beat the competition from other suitors, fitting them into the salary cap, meeting them, trying to find jobs, working out partners' requirements, etc, etc.
Not quite as easy as "We need 2 star midfielders, a key forward and a ruckman
Very educational, though.

I witnessed said signing of contract by Lewis, at a West Lakes coffee shop late last week, and it was fair to say CEO Greg Edwards looked a very happy man...

Yes, good pick up for North, he made a huge difference to then before.
Interesting they're talking about less recruiting and more stability.
Several clubs might be heading that way.
