Yes micky, I would like you to tell us about Ryan willetts reputation as well, what is your problem with him ? Why are you questioning his abilities as a person and who told you these things, please name these people, feel free to do so.

Just like bayman i was saying what i was told from former west players something along the lines of not doing what hes told

But hey its that time of the year

He was a Reserves player when recruited. My point being they recruited two players playing for our Reserves, why wouldn't they have interest in one playing in our League side.

Dont forget Lewis was a seconds player with 2 clubs one being west !!

If they are willing to recruit Reserves players such as Blesing and Borholm from us I can't believe they wouldn't be interested in recruiting a League player like Willits.

My understanding Flag no 9 is the Eagles did not recruit Blesing . He came to the Eagles understanding he would have very little chance of making the league side .
But thats what i was told a few years back

I think if they sign him, register him and pay a transfer fee they have recruited him. After all, they could have said 'No thanks, we 're not interested.'

no idea if they paid anything for him

But he was coming good in the seconds on that day that grocke had his brain fade , and a centrals player broke his cheekbone i think or something like that !

Does raise the question theres a list from Ron Fuller days to Gods of players recruited who werent worth recruiting certain the eagles arent alone

Don't know, you'd have to ask Westies that...

Maybe it's because Elizabeth is closer to the Riverland than Richmond? Wink

Most of them all look to be 'mature age' guys who aren't necessarily local players?

Bit like when the Dogs got Jason 'Pumpa' Sutherland from Berri a couple of years ago...

Not sure if Nick is related to Drew, but it's quite possible.

Players aren't restricted to the club who looks after their zone.

Another club may have a different opinion about a player from the zoned club

Agreed. Some classic examples of that over time, not just zoned players, either...

Do you know what were Westies opinions of the Riverland players Central picked up, then?

West sign Joe Cua from Redcliffs.

Goes OK, too.

No relation to Drew Gallard.

I think Centrals advised the wrong name, it should be Gillard (not Julia), not Gallard.

Sad news if that's the case.

Heaps of talent but never really shown his full potential IMO.
