Aapologies for that, Phil
Yes, West spoke to him a year briefly ago when we signed Kaine Stevens.

Thaaaat's okay, Lee...
How did you see Kaine's first year with the club last year? Didn't he end up fininshing the year in the 2's?
I know Central were speaking to him before he came to SA, also...
Is he still at Richmond in 2014?

I thought he did very well, Phil.
He played most of the season and showed enough in that time. He played a few Reserves games at the end of the season (think he had an inury, too), but should be a starter next season.
I find that intestate country players often take a season to adjust, so he did very well.

Is former Sydney Swan and Bloods junior Tim Schmidt playing for Westies in 2015?

Ah, good to hear...
Agreed. There is usually a settling in period needed and they then begin to perform better following that...

Gotchy said the other night that South were going to bring forward some of their juniors, I think those plans will have to be revaluated.
Really saddened to see Tom Fields leaving, Brookers was always going to be a certainty to go somewhere good luck to both of them

Thanks.
No, he isn't. I think he retired due to injuries many years ago.
Good to see him helping out, though.

South have announced 3 new recruits...
http://www.safc.com.au/news?target=LatestNews
Mitch Farmer, Scott Dixon and Adam Flagg
The Mitch Farmer is NOT the Mitch Farmer what was previously with the Panthers, when he was aligned to South as a Power listed player, who then got traded to Richmond...

I have to say that despite the loss of Keegan Brooksby to the Panthers, one can only feel a strong sense of happiness for the lad. I for one am not surprised that an AFL scout has seen something in him worth pursuing. His form last season was high class and I get the sense from watching him that there is plenty more in the tank yet!

Thompson, 23, joins the Club on a permanent basis after being aligned with the Eagles whilst on the Adelaide Crows List for the past 5 years in which he played 20 AFL games and 80 SANFL games (68 for the Eagles and 12 for the Adelaide Reserves team). Thompson has been a premier defender when playing in the SANFL over the past few years and will fill a key defensive post in Season 2015.
Senior Coach Michael Godden said “We think Luke is a little unlucky not to still be on an AFL list so to have him at the Eagles full time will be fantastic. He’s built some very strong relationships with the players and staff here at the Eagles since moving over from Victoria so it will be a very smooth transition. He’s an exceptional person and a quality player who not only demands a lot from himself but also his team mates so he’s going to be very valuable for us.”
Thurlow, 21, joins the Club after spending 2014 on Essendon’s Rookie List. Originally from Queensland, Thurlow is a strongly built ruckman at 199cm and 102kg. Prior to 2014 Thurlow represented Queensland at State U18 level and was also selected in the U23 NEAFL State Team that took on SA in 2013.
Michael Godden said “Fraser is still only 21 and that’s relatively young in terms of a ruckman’s development but he’s extremely motivated and clear on what he wants to achieve. He had the chance to play against some quality ruckman last year through the NAB Cup and VFL season and acquitted himself very well. At nearly 200cm he’s a really good size and has great mobility so we think he can have a real impact for us this year.”
Football Manager Trent Hentschel said “To add Nick Hayes, Aseri Raikiwasa, Luke Thompson and Fraser Thurlow to our existing squad is really exciting. We’ve also had 12 players move up into the senior squad from last year’s U18’s so from a playing list point of view we feel we are in really good shape”.
Please join the WWTFC in welcoming Luke and Fraser to the Club.

Thurlow will go alright in this competition and I think he is a good get, I called him in a SA U20 v NEAFL U23's game a couple of years ago and he dominated both in the ruck and around the ground. Great pair of hands...
