Re: HAVE NORWOOD DONE A DEAL?
I agree with most of what you say, GN, but the tone of discussion on this particular matter is, IMO, right on the money.
We were talking about the integrity of the competition. I am prepared to accept the new team and see how it goes, with no looking back, as I saw that as futile.
The Norwood situation has angered me. The reasoning behind the decision is ludicrous, as those responsible must know and was obviously a get-out clause to get Norwood's vote across the line. Norwood must be laughing at their 'victory' in having their recruiting ban effectively diluted to worthless. They are now in a position where their deliberate breach of the salary cap cost them money only. In return, they got a premiership and no doubt more to come. It's a wonder they didn't ask for the fine to be scrubbed as well.
So, from a long-time supporter of the SANFL's administrators, I now just laugh when they talk about integrity and that's sad.

Re: HAVE NORWOOD DONE A DEAL?
Yea for sure I understand the frustration around the Norwood stuff in particular - but really the SANFL directors should be the ones to bear the forums wrath, not the AFC. Perhaps they did influence the decision in some way, but they have absolutely no decision making capabilities when it comes to waiving SANFL imposed penalties. Ultimately the buck stops with the SANFL and club heirachies in my opinion.redandblack wrote:I agree with most of what you say, GN, but the tone of discussion on this particular matter is, IMO, right on the money.

He will get plenty of practice. Seems to be a lot of chips on West Adelaide shoulders in here where Norwood is concerned.

We have to tread very carefully, though. Most of them up stakes at the first hint of a word out of place about the 'LegsScrunch wrote:He will get plenty of practice. Seems to be a lot of chips on West Adelaide shoulders in here where Norwood is concerned.
Even though most of what has been said has proven to be correct.
As for a chip on the shoulder, not sure why you'd think that. I've always said Norwood were the best team last year. I think I even congratulated them on the Redlegs Forum.
What has been said has turned out to be correct.

Re: HAVE NORWOOD DONE A DEAL?
Im not sure anyone other than Norwood powers that be would know whether their cap breach was intentional or not. Although on here it's constantly referred to as deliberate yet Wests is not. Regardless just seems there is animosity towards them. Just an observation.redandblack wrote:We have to tread very carefully, though. Re: HAVE NORWOOD DONE A DEAL?
Perhaps because it was deliberate. Look at the penalty and the proven charge.
West volunteered their breach. That doesn't lessen it, but Norwood were charged after a long investigation, then were hit by the biggest penalty in SANFL history.
As for animosity, I think football forums tend to have a bit of animosity towards other clubs.
Best wishes to SDK

Not complaining about it perhaps just questioning the myth of partiality you seem to perpetuate. As I have recently discovered it is your site so it is no skin off my nose. Good luck with it.
The second sentence is totally wrong, as I've said.
As for the first, I see that several clubs are now challenging the decision. Perhaps not a myth.

Anyone starting a new topic can use what ever color they wish...it sort of attracts attention. Anyway when posting a new topic, you will see a box on the right hand side, it says.. None (use implicit) , click on that and choose a color for your topic title. Feel free to use it when ever BC.
Hope that answers your question.

You should check your sources.Scrunch wrote:Not complaining about it perhaps just questioning the myth of partiality you seem to perpetuate. As I have recently discovered it is your site so it is no skin off my nose. Good luck with it.
It certainly isn't my site. I am not the owner and am proud to have equal moderation powers with several other good people, nothing more.
Several of us started it as an alternative to another site. We've survived many 'attacks', both subtle and crude, but often personal, so perhaps you'll allow me a bit of slack now and again. We're still standing and the site has become established.
We started TFSA as a site for people who just wanted to talk footy in a friendly atmosphere. It's a pity this was frowned upon by others, but that's life and we just move on.
Besides, it's my birthday, I've had a lovely evening, about to have some birthday cake and watch a bit of cricket. I've had a wine or two and I don't give a you know what about perceived partiality.
Goodnight

Precisely, well done acknowledging it.redandblack wrote:don't give a you know what about perceived partiality.
I don't have the energy to argue with someone who will not accept their own shortcomings so I will leave it now. Hope you enjoyed your birthday.

Re: HAVE NORWOOD DONE A DEAL?
Why the constant emphasis on my personal shortcomings?
Why not just debate the topic?
I've made no personal comments about you at all. I'm not sure why you feel the need to constantly do the opposite?
