I saw South beat us yesterday and when they beat the Eagles and i am impressed with the way they play.I think their real test is in 2 weeks when they play a full strength Adelaide side.

I am in the same opinion as Blue and White by having my heart with hope ripped apart very quickly !!
Human nature is "I am very excited" but take a breath as it is still only 4 games into the season.
The next 3 games ahead Adelaide, Norwood and Port will give me some sort of indication on where things are going.....
One thing I must say, I read the Advertiser today and was pleased to read Roy Laird's comment in the headline saying "they are a very good side". I do not recall for a long time when other sides in the SANFL had any respect for us as a team. This has been something the club has been working on for many years... to gain the respect from other sides. I am now glad sides are now taking notice. Roy Laird is my most respected coach in the competition .....its nice to be acknowledged.

There's no doubt it's been a great start. With the exception of Rose for the first three rounds and Rolfe until the second half of the year, we've been blessed injury-wise.
A well-deserved bye next week then the massive test - Adelaide and Norwood in consecutive weeks at home. Had to have a good start due to our concentration of away games in the back half of the season.

See how South go in their next match against Adelaide, This may give a indication of where they are at?

They certainly look it at the moment. Nice combination of pace, class and toughness in the middle and some key positional players. Its a long season but travelling to Higginbottom won't be pencilled in as a win by any visiting team this year.

Souths next 4 games see them play Adelaide, Norwood, Sturt and Port....lets see how we fare against them before we get too excited.

i think at worst you'll be 6 wins 2 losses, i'm sure you'd be happy with that b&w

The real deal in May, or September, that is the question.
I doubt they'd like to play a Norwood, Central or Adelaide side deep in the finals race. Long, long way to go....like I need to tell Soufies that!

Just gotta keep winning. All the good work can be undone by losing to someone like Norwood this week. Danger game. They've got everything to play for, whereas we should be expected to roll them.
Sturt away in two weeks will be a huge test. They've looked real good all season. Even their round one loss to the Eagles, they still showed enormous signs of improvement and great belief under Mattner. It just took them a couple of weeks to sharpen their skills.

Ive backed AR twice since their inception
The previous time was against EG late last year
They lost that game as well
The last 2 games they have lost in 2015 +2016 were the only times Ive ever backed em

A win against Norwood to back up the win against Adelaide would help them to be considered the real deal?

I think beating an Adelaide side that was close to full strength proves South's credentials. Norwood will be a bonus.

Reckon after the Sturt game in 2 weeks will give us a indication of where we are at.....still, Norwood will be a danger game.
Do not want us believing in our own hype at present. Can be dangerous.

South are due for a loss and it will come soon enough, my suggestion is that how the club bounces back from that may be the marker if they are "the real deal" or not!

13-5 Is how I think they will finish
This is interesting
RD 9
22/5
PA v SA Alberton
RD 12
16/6
SA v PA Carlunga
South playing Port twice in 25 days
And in between is a state game on 29/5 when no SANFL games are played
