Thanks Guys Very Happy

Also had my first gym session on Wednesday - it was a group session with 9 other people - they had to drag me there kicking and screaming.

But I can honestly say I LOVED it - and my 'group' seem like really nice people.

That's only going to be once a week - but I think once a week at that gym, plus my continual walking will be fine. The gym monitor your progress as well - so I think that will keep me motivated/on my toes for the exercise/weight loss part of things..lol

Yes it is - thanks Very Happy

Also for those of you in the know...
I keep reading eating yoghurt is okay - but I think I've got the label thing all up the creek!
As when I look at the label I think they all have too much sugar.

Do any of you guys eat youghurt (or Booney do you know about your mum) - if so what brand etc?
I suppose my biggest problem is I don't like plain yoghurt.

Also is there ANY ice-cream out there I'm allowed to eat?

Asking just in case anyone knows Diabetes Type 2 - Page 3 2829010660

Still a little confused on what foods I can and can't eat - just using my brain mostly - but have the exercise plan well under way now.

Can honestly say I am starting to feel much 'happier' with myself and wellbeing in general - almost becoming addicted to going out for a walk each day - or maybe it's the reward of a nice coffee at the local cafe's while out walking that I'm becoming addicted to Diabetes Type 2 - Page 3 4257781809  - which ever it is doesn't matter - I'm walking !!..lol.

So rain - please go away until this afternoon!!

Barrambah is the best yoghurt for diabetics that I've found. Very low sugar content and very low fat, and it's delicious. Probably not available at supermarkets but Organic shops tend to stock it.
Peters make a low GI ice cream, but I'm not sure what the sugar content is like.

Hi FB - thanks for asking Diabetes Type 2 - Page 3 2829010660

Well the past 7 days - not so good - I had been sick and out of 'routine' with exercise - and couldn't stomach food very easily.

Today another bit of bad news - with tests coming back that my Kidneys are not as they should be - something we have to keep an eye on.

The good news is being back with my 'old' doctor (first app today) and he was very helpful and encouraging.

Basically just keep doing what I'm doing with exercise, food, medication and hopefully future tests will reveal better results.  4 weeks till I have my 3 monthly blood test - I am hoping it's much improved from when first diagnosed.  It should be I've changed everything I do - so fingers crossed.  Also having some kind of 'heart test' in 3 weeks as well.

Oh and the other good news is my blood pressure - it's awesome...lol.
So at least something is going right !

Weigh day on the 1st of September to see if I've lost more weight.
I am starting to fit into 'old' clothes - which is a nice feeling.

I will hang in there - soldier on - after all it's not a fad it's a life I have to protect/improve/live.

I have been on a "fitness kick" for the past 4 months or so, and am looking forward to the post-winter weather/Day Light Savings, will be quite a bit easier to go for (evening) walks.

Just a quick note . I was advised by a GP and an Endocrinologist not to eat morning tea .In fact they were horrified I would have a piece of fruit ie apple mandarin!!

What I have noticed when I eat at 9.30 my morning tea time my lunchtime reading ranges from 4.3 to 5.9 .
Now that I have stopped having morning tea and just have my diet drink and nothing else my level is from 6 to 6.9

I understand its normal but a wee bit funny how the body reacts
And breakfast is around 5.15 am as I start work at 6.30 am

You'd think it'd be the other way around.

I have to have morning tea - I am NOT a breakfast person and I am finding it very hard to shovel in food in the morning - but I've noticed that if I have a small breakfast and then a piece of fruit at morning tea that I am coping better.

I don't do my lunch time readings so not sure how this is effecting me.

I find it continually 'funny' though how it all comes down to exercise - everything comes back to it (don't know if I'm wording this right, but this is repeatedly what I'm being told by all forms of medical staff) as when exercising the muscles 'uptake' the glucose out of the blood - hence things like the kidneys not having to work over time to try and sift sugar out of urine etc.

So yeah keep walking people !! ...lol.

And weight bearing exercises are the best.
I've got hand weights, but I'm seriously thinking about getting leg weights as well.

Have a great weekend everyone - weather looks like it's going to be awesome Diabetes Type 2 - Page 3 2829010660

With hubby being on holidays for the past month - these last couple of weeks I have been so out of routine with my exercise - this may have taken a toll on the weight... BUT I have 2 weeks left of this month to do something about it - so we'll soon find out on the 1st of October..lol.
