Re: Diabetes Type 2
My report isn't good . My sugars have been increasing weekly and then daily . Monday morning was 14.8 and 13 on Tuesday with high 11's the previous weeks!! And they haven't been going down that much during the day .
Off to the quack and he changed my diabetes meds and I'm on one to lower the sugars . Pharmacist gave me a warning re go hypo or sugars going to low!!
Hasn't happened yet been 9.8 the last 2 mornings and lowest during the day between lunch and dinner has been 6.7 (and that's not eating after lunch )!!
Doing a blood test in a couple of weeks . Hoping to be back to normal by then !!

Re: Diabetes Type 2
Well I am on cloud 9 at the moment.
Just got my first lot of 3 monthly blood test results since being diagnosed.
Besides losing roughly 7.5kg - I have managed a few things...
Blood sugars HbA1c down from 10.6 to 6.9
Cholesterol down from 6.9 to 4.1
Vitamin D up from 19 to 35 (need to get to at least 50)
Liver function test better than before
Hard work is paying off - now to maintain the same diligence.

Just be warned some doctors con you about vitamin D . I had a doctor point out why have that tested in winter no pint as everyones inside !!

Trouble with me Micky is my job is from home and entails me sitting at the computer day and night - I don't see the sun...lol. However have started making conscious efforts to get out there more.

Going for my blood test on Saturday its early and the quack expects the sugars to be up . also checking Cholesterol and my Liver .
last time there was a problem with the liver heart doctor went off at me GP wasn't happy and the General Physician wasn't interested !!
So they are checking again

Well fingers crossed for better results Micky.
It can be such a rollercoaster ride - and I've only been on it for 3 and a bit months.
Today being the first of the month I jumped on the scales.
No mountains moved this month - dropping just 1kg.
But now a total of 8.4kg lighter - so can't complain.

I gave up raw sugar a long time ago , but do miss the sweet lovely taste of sugar in coffees and teas.
I now substitute sugar with Stevia
Zero calories
Zero carbs
Its a very potent sweet taste, and I like it more than sugar taste

Yes that's what I use Scrappy - it now tastes the same as sugar to me.

Re: Diabetes Type 2
Well was feeling off yesterday bad headache light headed but I soldiered on with my 10hr day at work !!
Quack told me off this morning as I got up felt the same and called in sick!!
End of story i run out of BP pills Monday and my BP was up due to the long work day I didn't see the quack !! And he was annoyed as my blood results weren't back he had to call for them and my sugars had gone up !!
So he has changed the sugar lowering pills and told me to take stronger pills than pnandol for all my aches and pains lol

How you going Micky J?
I put on half a kilo this last month - (Kick up the backside).
Back into the exercise routine now.
The food thing is all okay for me - but the exercise thing - it's all about time management I think !

12 months to the day since being diagnosed and since I started my weight loss journey. I have lost 10.5kgs in that time. Not as much as I would have hoped, but my own fault given I did go through a slack off period for a while!! ... but happy with what I've lost.
Onwards and upwards.

Re: Diabetes Type 2
Well done Mum
my journey has got rather bumpy ! After 6 to 9 months of telling the doctors at the large medical centre I was attending there was issues with my sugars . It gets complicated here I had two issues one was with my diabetes one wasn't . Two separate doctors ordered tests the next two quacks tore strips off me for their colleagues actions . Thought not going back then I get a letter saying they need to see me with all my medications and review my diabetes .
So I have swapped to a smaller surgery and will see one doctor . Friday I'm having another fasting blood test to test everything and she will review my meds in two weeks with a detailed record of my sugar levels !!
The large surgery is fine if I want a sick cert its around the corner from my work on old port rd . I wont be going back tired of the bad attitudes from doctors and receptionists!!
