only asking because i'm hearing he wont be at the Parade next year, along with several others that have already been mentioned
Johnston is contracted and will be there in 2018. Has fit in pretty well off-field. Would be nice to see him get his hair and hands dirty onfield though, hasn't offered much. Would be among the better paid as you would expect but my understanding his deal isn't astronomical like many seem to suggest - He didn't leave North for $$.

Re: Rumour File
Thanks Scrunch, it was just something I heard
Has a “recently” retired player been offered “a farm” to go over to play for the Ramblers rather than Lock? (Presuming he returns to his grassroots) There was a little flare up straight after the grand final in the change rooms too about this

I heard the rumour about Johnston too. It may have been the same source as you Bayman. My source is a Norwood man who is close to some influential Norwood people.

Very much could be the same person then, given your assessment of where you got it from

My mail is that there was a conversation between former Teammates at the B&F that likely started the whispers, but not the entire conversation was heard. Wasn't there so can't say for sure, but that's what I've been told.

Micky, there are quite a few players being spoken to by multiple clubs.
What's it matter when the players were spoken to?
They will make their choice regardless of when they spoke to the specific clubs.

when i say offered ''a farm'' that is exactly what i mean & have since had it confirmed he's going back to his grassroots, whether he gets ''a farm'' or goes back to Lock remains to be seen, apparently these two clubs/towns have a very fierce sporting rivalry

Doesn’t bother me in the slightest it’s not just centrals I’m saying
I’m just saying other clubs are quicker off the mark well two are

The destination of some Magpie players will depend on factors outside most clubs' control.

Read a report that the recently retired Monfries is going back to Melbourne to be in player welfare / development. Don't know who that might be with.

BEN WARREN
South should consider offering the coaching gig to Ben Warren
Premiership player for Norwood
Premiership coach at Norwood
Premiership assistant coach at Sturt
He did wonders in his first year coaching at Norwood as a first year coach
He took over losing about a dozen players from the previous season
He gained a couple
To win a Premiership under those circumstances was a great coaching feat
Rumour only :
Ben is interested in the South Adelaide coaching position

Re: Rumour File
I think there might be a few ex-players wanting the job.
Seems everyone who sits in the coaching chair recently gets recruited to Collingwood.
Would Ben Warren want it ?? Mattner most likely leaving Sturt after next year to AFL gig. Thought Warren would wait for that to come up ???
Big decision on the new coach we can not get wrong !!!!

If it’s one that may get delisted by the Power my understanding is they will have a fight on their hands by another sanfl club , Because the other sanfl clubs coach wants that player.

Putting 2 and 2 together I think that is the recruit the roosters might go troppo after.
