Norwood v Port @ Norwood 27/7/2012
looking forward to this blockbuster, surely a crowd of 8,000+ is on the cards given good weather, if Port can knock off Norwood a week after knocking off Central they'll prove to the football public & indeed themselves that they are the real deal, logic says Norwood but after watching the replay i feel an upset is brewing as Port steamroll towards september (while they're not everyones second team they have that Woodville feel about them)

Should be game of the year , Norwood could get back Brown ,Aish ,Rodan and maybe Pfeiffer. Legs to win in a close clash with a crowd of 7000+

Week after week, Norwood seems to come up against an opponent who is in very good form, and Port is no exception. We'll have to play well to win this one, and I'll be happy if we just take the points .... and no injuries!!!

Weather will have a big say in the matter. If this was a balmy evening in April or September, I'd almost guarantee 8,000.

I'm going to think that the crowd will be 4-5000 at best, and that's if the weather is OK.

I think regardless of weather, they will at least get 6K - if the rain stays away, then perhaps cloder to 7 or 8K

Norwood Team:
F: Jericho, Warren, Murphy
HF: Cachia, Clarke, Gallagher
C: Phillips, Reinbrecht, Brown
HB: Chippendale, Jeffries, Terlich
B: Smart, Georgiou, Zorzi
Ruck: Dawe, Suckling, Batsanis
Int: L.Thomas, Aish, Bode
Ins: Brown (Crows), Aish (U18s), Reinbrecht
Outs: Webber (Inj), Evans, Kirwan
Big out in Webber, tonight's conditions would have made him a damaging player, but hopfully the inclusions of Brown and Aish will offet the loss. Evans also unlucky to be dropped.

Opportunity missed by Port there, they could have had an interchange of Young Brain Surjan.

A couple of goods ins on a boggy ground in Surjan and Summerton, will make a difference at ground level, but I'll be surprised if Surjan plays.
Cracking game tonight with Norwood cruising along and Port on the back of two good wins.
Head says Port in a close one, heart says Port easy...

Nice one 'Flaggy'. Thanks for the giggle.
I reckon you may have started something. Now we'll all be looking at the team line-ups for great combo's.
A Port alternative with a pirate flavour - Young Grey Beard ?
The best I could come up with from Norwood's list is for those who like fine furniture ......
Brown Chippendale Dawe

Re: Norwood v Port @ Norwood 27/7/2012
I think the stat 28 scoring shots to 11 tells the story of this game. Norwood put a couple of goals on the board early and held sway for the rest of the game.
Clayton was causing a few problems for Norwood in the 1st half but even he fell out of the game in the final term.
Even though there was only 19 points in the game at 3/4 time, Norwood's relentless chasing, tackling and desire to get to the contest wore Port down in the final term adding 2-7 to 0-1.
The highlight of the night for me was mid-final term when a Port player (can't recall who it was) found space, was 30 metres clear and heading towards kicking an easy goal. Terlich had run 50 metres and nabbed him before he could kick at goal. Amazing chase and tackle. Most times it is holding the ball (prior opportunity), but not tonight.
Just on umpires, due to the wet weather they decided to throw the ball up. No problem with that, but what I did have a problem with was one umpire in particular who couldn't toss the ball straight up. Every time, the ball was going at 60 degrees, sometimes 45 degrees! Weird.
