Great story on Callinan in The Age today:
http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/at-long-last-callinans-turn-to-crow-20120621-20qwy.html
His story really is remarkable and a testament to those chasing their dreams.

After another decent break, the Crows go into tomorrow evening's match against North Melbourne refreshed and ready to go, and once again facing a side coming off a trip to the Gold Coast in North Melbourne.
While the Crows recent form against North hasn't been great (losing the past 2), it is a completely different side from those outfits, and go into tomorrows game deserving favourites.
If the Crows win tomorrow, they'll finish the round top. Lets hope this possible added pressure doesn't derail the side.

I don't think it will Brucetiki. Sanderson seems to have the squad keeping a good perspective on things at the moment. Here's hoping we jag a comfortable victory under the roof today.

Sometimes you're so far off your normal standard that it can be comfortably ignored.
That might sound blaise, but in this case I think it's around the mark.

Agree R&B.
North were on fire today, easily their best game of the year. Word is the flu was ripping through the Adelaide squad also, which could explain the weird move of having Petrenko as sub and also subbing off of Tippett at half time.
That said, I left last weeks game against St Kilda thinking we are still 12 months away from being the complete package, and what I saw today confirmed this.
Many of our match winners are yet to reach the 100 game mark, and I reckon we still need to improve by about 20% to be a serious force. Still some patience required yet.

Re: Adelaide
I have some concerns about this weeks game.
If you look back over Adelaide's past month, they haven't exactly set the world alight:
- Loss to Collingwood with a big fade out int he last
- Win over Freo with a big fade out in the 3rd
- Win over the Saints with a big fade out in the last
- Loss to North with a complete 4 quarter poor performance
There's some bleeding that needs to be sorted out. Richmond has a quality midfield and some good targets up forward. Massive danger game on Saturday IMO.

Yes, I'm a great believer that there are good and bad times to be playing all sides and I'd think Richmond will fancy their chances.
However, it might take a game like last week to wake the Crows up, so I think they'll win OK.
On the other hand, Steve Morris and Shane Tuck play for Richmond.

Re: Adelaide
Richmond would have some confidence going into this game, having played Footy Park pretty well over the course of the last 2 seasons.
I would think, however, the Crows would be hurting after last week and would want to atone for that performance. If Richmond aren't on their guard, the Crows could win this by 10 goals or more.

Looks like it will be a wet weather game at this stage as well, which will tighten things up a bit. Adelaide have not been good in the wet so far this year.

I hear the boys down at West Lakes have had a pretty big training load the last month or so Ginge, might have a bit to do with a little slump.

Could be Booney. I've noticed they're starting to rotate some of the fringe players through the side also to get game time into them also (see Jaensch out for Knights this week as an example).
As people have said, even with a couple more unexpected losses they should still make the top 4. I'm just being pessimistic, hard to shake that attitude after watching them stink it up for the last couple of years!

I was unable to watch today's game - but I walked past somewhere that had a TV on and heard "The crows will find it hard to get back from here" - so imagine my surprise when tonight I found out they won !!! lol.

I was a bit the same. Checked the score at quarter time to find we were 8 goals to 3 down and thought we were gone.
Then at end of the game I heard one of the magpie supporters say that the crows had won (didn't use the word crows but more a derogatory term) and couldn't believe it.
Looking forward to watching the replay tomorrow.

Brilliant win last night in the Showdown. To have blokes like Henderson & Martin come into the side and carve up, that kind of depth bodes well for our finals campaign.

Less than 35,000 to a showdown, is that the lowest crowd out of all of them ?

As much as 35 000 might be a lower crowd than expected it still makes money for the club, pretty sure the break even point at Football Park is 27 000?

What realy makes me angry is the way the Adelaide media (TV, radio & papers) built this up to something that it wasn't.
Reporting that " It's a sellout on Saturday night" or "Im not sure if there are any tickets left" or "There is only 1000 tickets left that have been released".
It's a total farce the way they go on as you could see on Saturday night there were plenty of empty seats in the crowd.
From the way the media were reporting it was a sell out Saturday night!!!

I think another reason was that most Crows season ticket holders won't pay the admission fee after forking out so much at the start of the season for there season tickets, some in excess of $400.
