I've always thought, whenever glancing to your avatar, that he looks like a hybrid version of Ron Fuller and Rob Kerin !!!

Can’t see George Reeves looking a mixture of the two men you suggest BP….will we ever know whether George shot himself or was murdered???

Re: Improving the SANFL
It is interesting that over the last 10 years we have gone from debating the merit of playing football at all on Good Friday to now all games being wrapped up on that day.
No footy at all over Sat, Sun or Mon of Easter.
Maybe the strategy is that people can't do much else with nothing open, other than paint your fence, mend the curtains or pull out weeds, so may as well go to the footy.

April 29th at Unley….
It could be improved if both teams weren’t in blue….just as well the rain has stopped earlier or it would be impossible to tell them apart, it’s nigh on impossible now, obviously Central in white shorts…..surely someone should have worked this out

Re: Improving the SANFL
Against improvement is the AFL expansion of teams
Talk of a side from Tasmania a 3rd side from another state mentioned of late
Every time a new franchise starts the SANFL/VFL/WAFL lose players to the draft
A new AFL club needs a squad of about 40+ players and the
the main 3 leagues[ and other leagues] will be contributing to those squads

Re: Improving the SANFL
Irrespective of the detrimental effect on leagues like the sanfl, 20 AFL teams is too many in my view. I just don't know how sustainable that is, particularly in light of the money the AFL uses to prop up rugby states.
That money comes from somewhere and just makes the game less affordable for the average punter. The business development administrators will say that the money needs to be made, but it just takes the game into the realms of the EPL, US NFL etc. You can't get tickets for that and if by some chance you can, the cost is astronomical.
However, in my view, the gap between the AFL and second tier comps is much much larger than the systems in the US and UK, where those second tiers better feed into the top.
Is this an argument for an AFL reserves?
Just my opinion.

Re: Improving the SANFL
How to improve the SANFL? Lobby for Norwood to be the 20th AFL team. We will then at least have as many players coming in to the SANFL comp as going out.

Re: Improving the SANFL
So far
Week off due to Gather Round
Shortly after a week off for the SA V WA state game
Now we have a split round - so all that at the half way mark of the season
Not sure thats ideal for spectators or the players?
A week off for the players might be more beneficial to the players later in the season not earlier and middle ?
