All things WWT 2023
After back to back flags the Eagles fell out of the top five in 2022, will they fly back up in 2023 ?

A few clubs would be looking hard for a ruckman for next season.
Who is next in line at the Eagles?

Take a ticket, get in line.
Almost all clubs would be talking to him !!
If he is a decent state league ruckman, that is...

Ended up on crutches as a result during Saturdays’ trial game
Zac Buck was shall I say very feisty during the trial game

Bumped into Jade Sheedy at Henley Square on the weekend...
He said Daniel's ankle isn't as bad as first thought...
Should be right to go come Round one...

Re: All things WWT 2023
The SANFL website said the trial games would be shown on SANFL Now. There was nothing last night that I could see. Anyone know what is going on.
I just looked at the notificatation and its been modified to yesterday.

Can never be written off, they generally regenerate quickly
They have supplied the AFL with many players
That supply has probably cost the club 2-3 more flags in the last 20-30 years

Need the first few games to assess how the oldies are going, and how the new recruits fit in. The first of their recent double were initially not rated highly.

As a long time (read old) WT supporter, I can remember (I think) back in the day when Matt and his brother, both ruckmen, were enticed ie poached by the VFL to go play elsewhere. So even the, WWT were having trouble keeping big players. But no hard feelings, just wistful memories. Vale Matt.

Re: All things WWT 2023
Was he in the first cohort of players to head east en masse?
Just a bit older than the Platten, Bradley, Motley, Kernahan et al mid-80s exile era.
Its in my head that it was Fitzroy he went to?

Yes, Fitzroy. I can remember he and his brother Tim, who was the same size, playing at Thebarton. Tim wasn't as good but they took a bit of getting over.

dropped again, i wonder whether the injury hasn't healed & they've played him while in discomfort, having said that he dropped 2 chest marks in 2 minutes in the early stages of the match against Central at Elizabeth, granted it was wet but a player of his calibre should be taking them

Re: All things WWT 2023
Motivation in modern day football still works, Dan Menzel and his power rankings on the SEN SANFL show ranked South bottom on Wednesday & my spies tell me this was mentioned more than once at Noarlunga since the show…..
Not sure a present day player should be making comments on other teams anyway, it has to be a conflict of interest
