To bad you didn’t ask the commentators from the pass last year in at least one north Adelaide game we heard all about a local club that a north player used to play for . Over and over and over .
I guess they had nothing to talk about .

And the constant references to the scores at other games while play continues in front of him? If we were interested in the scores at those games then we'd watch them on the digital pass. Just call the game and forget all the other rubbish.
Not standing up for Peter Walsh . Big Phil would describe it better than I ever could .
I’d just say what I’ve seen following MMA ie UFC ,Belator( awful) and one .
If the MMA or kick boxing ect matches are going slow the commentary team has to talk about something . You think Peter Walsh is bad one MMA fighter calling is awful keeps going on about nothing and under hooks ! Be grateful we get something .
Yes, because comparing commentary for Combat sports seems relevant to calling Aussie Rules
Well I’ve watched the digital pass last year when the commentators went on about nothing to do with the game . But rather the local side one player played for .
I mentioned UFC commentators do the same thing when there’s nothing going on in the fight .
Sorry scrunch if you don’t understand different sports the same thing happens when there’s **** all going on .
I understand football, maybe give that a go Micky

Re: Digital Pass
I was engrossed with a dynamic duo team teaming last week in the ST V NW match
The pairing of SANFL doyens Doug Robertson and Chris Kendall
Ive had some pass erstwhile discussions with both men about the SANFL
Both have a great passion and knowledge of the SANFL
As for the digital pass
Overall it gets a decent pass mark from me
We get an opportunity to see up to 5 games a week

Have to say a big improvement tonight.
Paul Bonsor? was good, but Daniel Menzel was excellent.

Bonsor(?) and Menzel were very good on Friday night, other than getting some players names wrong. They concentrated on the game though, and gave us some analysis of what was going on.

Yes, posted similarly on Westies'Forum.
Menzel particularly.

I could barely hear Menzel; there seemed a problem with his audio. Paul Bonsor does a lot of PBP work with SEN SA and a podcast show with Adrian Pickles.Lee wrote:Have to say a big improvement tonight.

Interesting I’ve seen other people say Cornsey was bad and Jarman was bad as well .
But I didn’t see the pass so no idea
I will see the pass next Sunday if the net doesn’t drop out like it does every Sunday

Strange, I had no trouble hearing him.

"Interesting I’ve seen other people say Cornsey was bad and Jarman was bad as well"
Jarman kept calling Jack (no 12) Hayes by his brother's name Nick all day, even when his co-commentator kept referring to Jack as Jack. Nick I think was playing in Victoria. And are commentators allowed to barrack for one team?

Thanks for that . It answers why you mentioned that elsewhere .
And why I’ve seen Jarman was bad .

The League never acknowledged it wasn't a good product.GCatt wrote:Its been improved immensely ! G Cornes on tonight. Good to se the SANFL acknowledge it was not a good product. Getting some real quality involved . Good to listen to.
They had an opportunity to contract former C7 Sports Producer Paul Childs to oversee production and introduce new voices.
That is exactly what has happened and a good product has turned into a great product.
Never not a good product. Would you have rathered nothing at all in the past?

Re: Digital Pass
It has been through many levels of 'good' and has been very average at many times. Some of it has been very ordinary, but it's very much better now.
I don't think comoaring it to having nothing is a powerful argument.

My dodgy Optus internet it stuffed up at the start then came back ok
But it was a very pro port team we heard every thing Port Adelaide
But it is the digital pass so it equals footy radio back in the 1980s

Nankivell and the woman whose name escapes me were very good for the West v Centrals game, other than Nankivell surprisingly getting a few West players wrong.
On Occasions the quarter highlights have run over into the next quarter, masking part of the screen, which is very annoying, but generally it's been very good this year, Peter Walsh aside.
