Central District on the move? Empty Central District on the move?

Post by Big Phil Tue Jan 13, 2015 10:54 am

Interesting article. Not sure it will help the financial troubles the club, like most in the League, are in...

Very early stage of discussion but good luck to them if it happens.
The position proposed is perfectly placed on Main North Road and could turn out to be a real winner for the club financially.

I see that Mal Hemmerling is involved in driving this super duper new Northern Sports/Entertainment Complex at Elizabeth. The same big names keep cropping up in these deals. I gather it has some long term objective to be part of a South Australian bid for the Commonwealth Games down the track. The CDFC would need to be careful they don't get trampled underfoot when the big guns start fighting for the best spots. Rolling Eyes

This could work out pretty well for Central if they get the right contract with the local council. There is a mass of development and urban renewal around the area, could very well set Central up for some time yet. Poker Machines in main road locations always seem to do well rather than just keeping them tucked away at the club in a backstreet, hence why Westies want to move theirs over to Marion rd.

Very sensible view by Central, who, like North, Sturt, the Eagles and Norwood, are seeing the benefits of moving licensed premises off-site to main roads to also expand their brand.

Not sure about most clubs being in financial trouble, though. Certainly some are.

Okay, maybe not most, but a majority, I would think....

There'd be more clubs not satisfied with their financial position than those that are, one would think...

Not most but a majority? You have a different understanding of 'most' than most.
