Josh Thewlis retires
South have announced the retirement of Josh Thewlis.
A very good player and a very loyal player to South.

Looks like you need a spell checker, as well, Lee
Well done to Josh on a pretty good career...

Correct 100% Lee; Josh is an absolute ripper fellow to boot.
Loyalty is a quality that is diminishing in footballers in this day and age;but this guy was loyal to his bootstraps.
hes going to devote more time to his carpentry business...interesting that he suffered some horrendous off field injuries during his career as a result of his work.
Hopefully his use and dexterity with a Nail gun has improved since those days. He managed to put one through his hand..and then shortly after succeeded in putting one through his knee!

Just a Liddle one.
Always a shame to see classy players and loyal servants hang up the boots. Good luck to Josh in the future, a player I always enjoyed watching.

Come on bayman, let us in on the little secret.
It will be a different south next year without Josh's presence in and around the changerooms. This season after having a full pre season, it certainly brought out the best in him, hope next years pre season didn't scare him off.

With Hourigan and Thewlis gone, if South also lose Eddy and Brooksby in the draft that makes a serious hole in their big man contingent.

He was a great player for South that openly played for the jumper of the club. Will be missed and I hope he is able to stay involved in some capacity!

nope, i can't share anything more as was told in confidence...................your last sentence intrigues me given what another South player said to me the other day, it went along the lines ''it is very hard to do hard work & then front up to an AFL like training sessions, it might be ok for those that sit in offices''
