Re: Greatest Actors Actresses of all time
The Kathleen Turner of the 80s was a woman of immense beauty
One of her great quotes is :
" On a night when I feel really good about myself, I can walk into a room, and if a man doesn't look at me, he's probably gay ."

Q'orianka Kilcher
Her part in the movie The New World was exquesite
I cant believe the then 14 year old could act with such sensual gracefulness
She is now 23 , be good to see her in another film, to see how she has progressed

Re: Greatest Actors Actresses of all time
I'd get stuck in a bottle for 1000 years with either of them anyday.
I thought Elizabeth Montgomery committed suicide. Might just have to check that one.
Barbara Eden appeared on "The Project" not so long ago.
Jeannie was a mid-60s production and it just shows you how conservative (can't have commies in the closet) USA was back then.
Just about the time Tricky Dickie got the job and with the anti-vietnam sentiment, the place was a juxtaposition of youth vs the "ol' American Way'.
No wonder so many of the Actors and Actresses of the 50s and 60s ended up on the "Blacklist'.
...ahhh, the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Re: Greatest Actors Actresses of all time
Elizabeth Montgomery died of cancer aged 62
Tammy Grimes was offered the original part as Samantha
Tabitha's part was almost given to Jodie Foster and Helen Hunt
Mother , daughter, grandaughter all had a similarity
Endora, Samantha and Tabitha all had names ending with A
I know you want 'more'
Endora is played by Agnes Moorehead
Barbara Edens original real life name was Barbara Jean Morehead
Only the Spelling differs in the surname
Coincidently Barbara's middle name is Jean, and is Jeannie in the TV series
The David Bowie song Jean Genie was not about Barbara Eden , it was about Jean Genet who was an author
In the good looking stakes
Elizabeth Montgomery is beautiful
Barbara Eden was stunning
My choice Eden by a nose

Re: Greatest Actors Actresses of all time
Re Bewitched, and I Dream of Jeannie..the later was developed to rival the success of the former. Both good shows and great actresses. Interestingly both actresses played dual roles, on occasion. Serena was Samantha's cousin, and Jeannie also had a mischievous family member who appeared on occasion too.
There were a couple of other beauties from 60s sitcoms to rival EM and BE - Barbara Feldon from Get Smart, and Marlo Thomas (now married to Phil Donahue). Not to forget Tina Louise from Gilligans Island, and Donna Douglas from Beverley Hillbillies.
In the 70s, Farrah Fawcett and Linda Carter were equally high in the beauty stakes.

Re: Greatest Actors Actresses of all time
can't argue with that Ff....didn't mind Wonder Woman at all, Yes Lynda Carter was a pinup girl of mine growing up, (no pun intended) but whatabout Dawn Wells for the MaryAnn 'supporters' on Gilligans Island ?

LINDA EVANS
Linda Evans look quite stunning playing her part as Audra in The Big Valley
As a lass she was very attractive , and acted reasonably well
PETER BRECK
A fiery actor in his part as Nick on The Big Valley
He is a very good actor

I couldn't remember the other young actress' name on Gilligans Island, bayman, but you're right Dawn Wells was nice.
Of the local actresses, I always rated Lynda Stoner and Kerry Armstrong.

CHANTAL CONTOURI
Chantal and her family ran a Greek restaurant in Hindley Street last century
It was the BBQ Inn
It was near the Morphett Street intersection
She was in those days a veritable Greek Goddess
I had occasions where I have met this beautiful woman
I was a decade younger than her , bud I did drool when I was with her
She only had to say yes....
BBQ Inn made a mighty fine Yiros as well
Chantal was in Number 96, and the Alvin Purple movie
She was a good actress
I LIKE CANDY
Does anyone remember the voluptuous Australian actress Candy Raymond ?

Re: Greatest Actors Actresses of all time
Come on fellas- how about Claudia Carvan, Toni Collette and Rachel Griffiths for some great home grown talent?
I know they're all a bit modern for this forum but they've all shown they're great character actors.

Those 3 above are closer to my age actually.
Growing up, I also rated Annie Jones and Nadine Garner.

Annie Jones is an Adelaide girl, she went to school with a mate of mine in the northern suburbs, when she was on one of the soaps he told me he knocked her back at school & now regrets it

In the 1970-80s there were some lines we would spin , usually at the night clubs
In like flynn[Errol Flynn]
Is that a gun in your pocket or are you happy to see me[Mae West]
And yes those two had a rather promiscuous lifestyle several decades before
