Beat Norwood in the last game they played in 2022
That has to be a positive leading into 2023

West have announced several players leaving. Most have come and gone without making the grade, but Jackson Edwards is a big loss.

Do you know where he will end up, Lee?

Maybe back to Werribee, where he went after being delisted as a Crows rookie, to play under Chocco Williams.

Jackson has or is moving to QLD as his partner has an employment opportunity up there.

I still can’t believe Westies sacked Gotch. He is a players coach who has the culture of the club at heart. He was a great contributor at South and was just starting to get the Bloods moving in the right direction. I imagine a number of players will depart because of Gotch’s exit. Cannot see them winning too many games next year and given their fragile financial situation - their future is looking pretty bleak.

I agree in being surprised that Gotch got sacked…..I will say though that since Hartlett took over training & implemented some of Mark Stones’ training drills that the results of west in the latter half of the year were a lot better than the first 3 months or so….I know the implementation of those drills occurred because one of the former Glenelg players told a group of us….this is the reason I think they’ll surprise next year & improve to be knocking on the door of the top 5

He was sacked because he didn't improve us one jot in 2 years. By my calculations he cost us about $60,000 per win. We lost 26 games in a row under him, he didn't persist with young players and we only improved a bit at the end of the season when Hartlett essentially took the reins.

Nice article in The 'Tiser today from Andrew Capel...
Talked about West Adelaide appointing Jacob Surjan's wife to their board...
https://westadelaidefc.com.au/news/welcome-alison-surjan/
Heard last year the Bloods had thrown a MEGA deal at the current North coach...
Would have been a nice package deal with Alison, but the Bloods couldn't get their man...
Would love to be a fly on wall at the Surjan's dinner table the weeks when West and North play each other.

Would Adam Hartlett be the first SANFL coach to have a man bun? More cutting edge innovation from Westies.

Ha ha, I found myself thinking about exactly this when I saw a pic of him at pre-season training.
Can't imagine Fos, Jack or Roy with a man bun !!!!
