VB was able to provide those contests. As long as we have enough big mobile targets up there to keep on attacking, that is key, along with midfield depth.

Giuffreda came good when it counted. Thought he could go out a winner.

You really have to query the salary cap implications in SANFL now.

This is outrageous. The Menzels payments would cover what Foote and Lowson were paid, they'll also lose Jones but he would have been on minimal payments, they might lose another couple of kids but they've got 6 other recruits from interstate to fit in. If the SANFL aren't going to enforce the cap then they should at least have the stomach to admit to the AFL they're not going to so that we can all have a free-for-all.

As I said previously, time to look at a points system.

It seems impossible to fit all these players in to a halved salary cap.

Even if it comes down to jobs, it's a very slippery slope.

The SANFL needs to stand up. The integrity of the competition is already under threat from AFL teams competing.

I'm happy to believe the offucial CDFC statement that makes it crystal clear that Daniel and Troy have moved to the Eagles for more money.

They also mention a few if their 'loyal' players continuing under the sacrifices of the much reduced salary cap.

As I mentioned nothing from the Eagles until that happens they aren’t Eagles players .

No confirmation yet from the Eagles over the Menzel brothers transfer. If it is true, as an Eagles supporter and SANFL lover, I'm disappointed when players shift due to money or personality clashes - Eagles losing Jarred Almond to North hurt.
If it is true, then it can be interpreted that the Eagles have given up on getting James Tsitsas, Cameron Sutcliffe and, perhaps the rumour of Riley Knight to North. Be good if Luke Powell could put out his second (re-signings/new recruits list) promptly to confirm. I would rather have had our 2 home- grown products (Sutcliffe and Knight) and Tsitsas. Hasn't Troy Menzel missed the latest season with a foot injury/surgery? It might end up being a win-win-win for all 3 parties.

If the Eagles haven’t said it then they aren’t eagles players

I can confirm through my Eagles friend that both Menzels’ have agreed to sign with the Eagles & will be signed sooner rather than later

My only concern with this if my team signed them is that one of them could be having a stay in another state, depending on any legal action that happens

I think Central know who they'll play for.

Believe they have only signed for one year. Have signed for less than what the Dogs were offering, just wanted to get out.
