Nat Caruso (West) was reported on video evidence. West challenged the deision and the hearing has just concluded.

He was found not guilty after a very brief hearing.

Rightly so, a normal football collision that looked to have little in it at the time.

Daniel Webb, on the other hand, looked extremely fortunate.

Grocke got 2 matches with 92.5 points carrying over, so he's on thin ice in that department. Interesting that 3 of the 4 players reported so far at league level are Eagles players.

Grocke's suspension is being appealed, to be heard Thursday night.

Rightly so. I certainly don't think it was worth a 2 match suspension. It was clumsy and a fraction late, but Pfeiffer wasn't injured at all. IMHO, a free down the field was all that should have been warranted .. but then again, I still haven't come to terms with the AFL-style "touchy-feely" attitude of footy these days.

North Adelaide Captain James Allan has been given a 1 match ban, as has West skipper Ryan Ferguson...

Glenelg's Todd Grima has been offered a 3 match ban for striking Central's Corey Reichert in the throat during the Reserves on Saturday night.

West skipper Ryan Ferguson has been found NOT GUILTY and is free to play against South Adelaide on Saturday.


Jimmy Allan's hearing is on right now...

I couldn't see him being suspended, nor reprimanded. Not when the Magarey is at stake.

It shouldn't matter who it is - you do the crime (and get caught) then you do the time...

The adopted "guilty until proven innocent" programme from the overbearing AFL leaves much to be desired (to put it mildly). It flies against the laws of the land.

Well, the umpire reported him, but it wasn't the umpire who handed down the 2 match suspension. I've always been intrigued by the process, i.e. the nmumber of times we see players get suspensions and then having them withdrawn.

My understanding of the appeal system is new evidence must be presented, otherwise the suspension stands. I've often wondered why this "new evidence" wasn't presented in the first place. If it was, it would save people a lot of time and effort.

Ferguson got off as well. Makes you wonder why umpires even bother reporting. Well done to Allan and Ferguson.

The current system does not allow for appeal unless you want to prove your innocence, when you must then present the evidence. Umpires are far from perfect and these days they are likely to be dragged over the coals if they do not report players for looking sideways. This was a case of over-reaction by an umpire and fortunately an appeal allowed the correct information to be given and a just decision made.

Central’s Justin Hardy will challenge a one match ban handed out by the Incident Review Panel for a rough conduct charge. He will front the Tribunal at 5.30pm.

Justin Hardy's decision will have a fair impact on the Central v West game thius week.

I'd imagine Central won't want to lose a tall.

Luckily for them, most decisions that are appealed seem to be reversed.

Especially when they involve Centrals. Their record at beating the tribunal on important charges over the years is second to none.
