after watching both these teams play on the weekend, i could only think West will win, i do think it'll be a tight margin though

Watching North on Saturday , West should account for North comfortably and get the season off to a good start . If they win I wonder if the knives will be put away for a couple of weeks ? "West to account for North comfortably," and then tip North to win by 37 ???

Think West have a little to prove this weekend and will get the points accordingly, will be interesting to see how Collins copes with his own side facing flooding and scragging at every opportunity. His coaching will be the difference between West winning or losing this week one would think.

Nearly impossible to decide.
North have a list that can do damage if all are switched on as a team.
West very workman like. Impressive win against a Central who needed a win.
Only because they've played well under lights when I've seen them - North.

West are 2 wins & 1 loss under lights this year so i'd suggest their 'night form' is prety good

And they made light work of the Roosters last year under lights in Rnd 1

Really? OK, fair enough, you may well be right. But I didn’t see those games.
As I said, my memory of games I have seen under lights recently had North looking a little better.
I’ve often wondered whether a lighter coloured jersey at night is more helpful, or is it an advantage
to be less easily seen by the opposition in a darker strip ?
At night games I know what shade of jumper I'd find easier to kick to. Not being able to pick a winner
other than just tossing a coin, I chose the old 'cowboy hat method' from western movies.

Re: West V North
Will the competitive North that appeared last year and missed a finals' berth through narrowly losing games turn up this week? Or will it be another Titanic replica with their aspirations sinking for 2012? North's record against West at Richmond is generally pretty good, where their last win was last year by 41 points when the machine started to work properly. However, another insipid effort like the one against Glenelg will see North succumb. There needs to be some changes to the team, and perhaps it is time to promote some of those reserves players who have helped the team to some big wins - Clinch, Davey, Kangur and White, and hopefully the return of George Thring and Handby who played well. Perhaps also, Backwell needs a run in the reserves as he looks underdone, and maybe Hill and Blee could also do with a run to get up to speed with SANFL footy. Will there be wholesale changes as Francou wields the axe, or just some subtle tweaking to find the right mix? Will Boras go back as he did little, or will Francou extend some sympathy considering the poor delivery of the ball? So many questions and no definitive answers. I am hopeful that the team will have given themselves a collective kick in the backside, and produce the desired result of which they are capable, or from now on Francou may just be rearranging the deck chairs from week to week as the ship goes down. Roosters to bounce back by 20.

George Thring in for North along with Miles and Clinch
Not suprised to see Backwell dropped after the last two weeks efforts.

Wright might be a late inclusion. If so Thring might miss out again.

Re: West V North
For West fans, the Reserves clash will be worth watching. There are several players kinocking on the door of league selection. Firstly, whichever 2 of Homburg, Laird and Silverlock who miss playing league tonight will be looking to impress. Powere listed Ben Newton is getting some footy under his belt and isn't far off. Forwards NIck Westhoff and Tom Keough kicked 10 between them last week, while ruckmen Marc Borholm and Peter Nelson are in good form.
Scott Blesing is always close and there are several other young players improving every outing.
North won well last week, so it should be a good game.
At Prospect tomorrow, the 18's should also be a great game. West are a ver4y good outfit, but North are on fire.
