2016 SANFL Highlights
It seems the "Recovery Session" is not used as a name any longer.

Same as last year, just leaving out the 7 commentators having a chat before the start of the highlights.

Round 3 highlights on SANFL website, commentary disappears halfway through the south v West game, seems to happen a lot at Noarlunga, not a good look for the league or whoever does the package

Re: 2016 SANFL Highlights
On the highlights Kane Mitchell's indiscretion way off the play can be seen.
I don't care what happens at tribunals but I had to laugh at the tribunal verdict saying that the action was careless and the impact was medium. It isn't particularly clear on the video but you can see that Mitchell deliberately threw an elbow into Hender's face which I would have thought was much more than careless.
I have been told that Hender suffered a broken nose in the incident. He had to be helped off the field by two trainers. What damage does impact have to have for the impact to be high.
Maybe the fact that Hender returned to the field lessened the verdict.
At the ground even Port people who saw the incident were talking 6 to 8 matches.

Re: 2016 SANFL Highlights
I didn't see the Mitchell incident at the game but I did see how bad Hender initially looked.
Like RR I did hear a number of supporters of both clubs bandying around estimates of 6 to 8 games. He doesn't seem to be a popular player with the magpie faithful.
One thing that amazed me is that people at the game knew that it had been caught on tape. How would have they known given that the match wasn't telecast.

Re: 2016 SANFL Highlights
why is there a game this week, like last week, that is missing commentary? west v sturt this week seems to have only one caller with silence during parts of it.

Technical issues with the stream I suspect

Correct...
After 3 weeks, there are still a couple of tiny little gremlins still in the equipment...
To my knowledge, they are getting some work done to them this week so should be all good for this weekend...

They had to call the game from a mobile phone, due to the line failure at Prospect, so therefore there's no audio feed into the system for the highlights...

Re: 2016 SANFL Highlights
I heard the pre game, The conversation on the mobile didn't sound brilliant, How did the call of the game go? I image it would be quite difficult to commentate a game on a mobile?

Re: 2016 SANFL Highlights
Thanks waddayamean, seeing you asked ....
For Eagles v South 1779 was fine by me, almost every year it is the lowest crowd at Woodville.
I was much more dissapointed in the turn up for the Port & Norwood games where expectations were higher.
It was more than we set as the pre-season target (1600)
740 more than last years clash at Woodville
840 more than the South V Magpies match the week before.
Still keeps us in 5th place for home crowds
- behind Norwood, Glenelg & Sturt, just behind Central
- ahead of North, West, PORT??? & South
Still on track to beat last year's home crowds total which is the aim.
Not expecting many more this week v West as it is on TV but Adelaide and especially Sturt on July 30 should get decent numbers.
Then the grand finale Kids Day v Glenelg on Aug 21 to wrap it all up.
