Re: trial game program 2016
North defeated West by 4 points in a pretty ordinary game. West had a lot out. Not sure how many North had out.
I think North are going to be a very defensive side judging by tonight's effort.
Don't like the out of bounds rule and looked like the players, umpires and spectators were totally confused by it.
Liked the look of young Pillion for West

League - Final Scores:
Norwood - 16.7 = 103
Eagles - 9.12 = 66
Redlegs win by 37 points
Goal Kickers:
Norwood - L.Johnston 3, B.Denmead, P.Bampton 2, B.Dawe, P.Leviki, J.Bode, P.Persinos, J.Cachia, S.Phillips, A.Wilson, B.Jefferies, D.Ferreria 1

Eagles - N.O'Brien 30, N.Hayes 26, C.Hall 23, J.Booyd 22, A.Poole 20, M.Appleton 19, J.Petrenko 16
After the Eagles kicked the opening goal of the term though Essendon recruit Nick O'Brien, the home side responded with 3 goals within five minutes, including a third to Johnston and firsts for Wilson and Jefferies.
Extending their lead to a game high 32 points at the 11 minute mark, the home side took their foot off the pedal slightly, cruising to a comfortable 5 goal win in their last trial game for the summer.
The remaining 15 minutes of the contest was somewhat of a stale mate with skill level dropping away and the intensity at the contest before young Davin Ferreria kicked an impressive long goal just into time on.
While the Redlegs were victorious to the tune of 37 points, both coaches would have had elements of their respective performances they were both impressed and disappointed in.

Re: trial game program 2016
As already said, North beat West by about 4 points in an error-riddled game. North were hard at it and seemed to have close to their best side, while West still had a lot out and played several inexperienced players.
On the other hand, North only played 21 and kept to 50 interchanges, while West had 25 and unlimited interchanges.
I didn't take much notice of North, but Craig and Barnes were good IMO.
For West, Hardy was good at full back, along with Haysman and Tuck.
A very ordinary, defensive game. Notth looked better structured than last year, but might still have a way to go.
West are in danger of a slow start unless several of their absent players teturn quickly.

final score was something like (going on memory)
Central 5.12.42
Glenelg 12.6.72
both teams would have been happy with what they saw (apart from Centrals' finishing in front of goal), i thought Sumner looked a class act who had all the time in the world

Re: trial game program 2016
Sturt beat West by about 9 goals. West were still well
below full strength but were very, very poor.
Hard to gauge Sturt. Skill level was good, but they only kicked away in the last quarter against a very depleted West outfit.
No positives for West, they were terrible.

Fridays night game Was Wundke injured im not sure he played the entire game .
What I saw in fridays night and i did leave the last two minutes was a lot better than what I saw last week. I left the norwood game even earlier that was my first trip to footy since my accident . And my head was hurting this week a hoodie kept the cold out
Not certain how strong that North side was . What I did think they are trying to play some form of Port Power footy . Their first quarter was really over defensive while the Eagles did attack more than north .From my view the last two weeks Eagles are getting the running game going .
Young Yarran is still getting there he is very young and he was knocked about at one stage .
Best I can see it was a trial and trials dont count .

Good point about the defensive style, micky.
West have played North and Sturt the last two weeks and the 2 new AFL coaches have certainly brought a highly defensive pressing style.

How many best 21 players will come in for the Bloods for next Saturday, Lee?
Is your form in the trial games a concern for Rubbers?

West have played North and Sturt the last two weeks and the 2 new AFL coaches have certainly brought a highly defensive pressing style.
Thanks Lee I missed the Eagles Sturt game
But I do think North were trying a very AFL style

Hard to gauge Sturt. Skill level was good, but they only kicked away in the last quarter against a very depleted West outfit.
No positives for West, they were terrible.
How many best 21 players will come in for the Bloods for next Saturday, Lee?
Is your form in the trial games a concern for Rubbers?
Possibly some of most of Webb, Fielke, Middleton, Schmidt, Klemke, Caire.
I can't speak for Mark, but if you ask if I'm concerned about our trial form, the answer's yes.

Eagles V Bloods January 2015 and Dec 2014
I didn't see the Dec
Prequels to the GF .
Please don't ask me I was there but the brain injury memories are gone
Thankfully seeing I'm told the Eagles lost
