Re: Who will coach West?
Except his brother barely got a game.
With Graham, Kurtze and the Kilburn lad (whose name escapes me) all taking ruck duties, Wundke junior didn't get a lot of time to impress this year.
May fair better next year when Graham is gone and the Kilburn chap left about half way through the season.

That's him!
Looked a likely type but wasn't impressed that he couldn't get back into the side after Kurtze came back from injury.

Really enjoying the crap written about Collins' salary and bonuses elsewhere by people who have no idea.
Apart from the rubbish they're writing, they seem to have forgotten the $100K he won the Club in the Foxtel Cup.
They also forget that he took a club who had won 4 wooden spoons in a row to two top three spots in successive years, the first time for 50 years at West.
What sums up Collo is that he's been at West for 6 years and the people at West have the highest regard for him, while it's the people who don't know him who are his biggest critics.
Most of those don't know much about footy, either

I'm talking about the amounts claimed, brodlach. He's certainly well paid, but some if the statements are way off.
It's an interrsting question as to what he's been worth to Westies, after taking us over at rock bottom.

I have the greatest respect for you, Bayman, but almost everything rumoured about West's coaching position has been miles off the mark.
This one is even further off the mark.

Re: Who will coach West?
My thoughts after watching the match against North today was did I think the side had improved since last year and I get the impression that is not the case. Mick Malthouse has a good theory on Premiership Windows for sides and I think that is right, some last longer than others and the red flag that is waving for mine is that West can not afford a step backwards at this stage of the game or they may well fall out of the five in one season.
Personally I think that what West Adelaide need is a proven Premiership coach, no rookies or people like Mickan or Jarman who could not get there when it counted, as harsh as that may be, I only say it because I feel that West have no room to move in getting this decision wrong.
As I see it, Michael Godden and Ron Fuller are the only real applicants that fit this criteria in that both of them if given the cattle have proven that they have the capacity to take a side and win the flag. If West can hold the players they want to keep and tinker around the edges with players selectively recruited, I do think they are a real chance at another go at playing in the premiership next year.
It may take some doing to get Godden out of WWT, yet Ron Fuller is there providing another rival club does not snap him up first which my mail suggests is on the cards. West began the process some while ago, so they are in the box seat to get him if they do want him.

Re: Who will coach West?
A smart man and good football man
I think Westies have the cattle but just needed a change of coach to see the team in a different perspective.
Their attack was much better this year, but they still seemed to drop back into last year's game plan especially against Norwood
Mind you, I didn't see any games live which makes me totally ignorant of what they really looked like all year
I'm now totally confused as to what I think......
Anyway, good luck Westies, like Sturt, they need crowds and $$$$$$$$$$
Consistent 20 goal games will bring them in.
($10 entrance fees might help as well, to bring in the ocassional spectator. Hear that SANFL? )

Re: Who will coach West?
I guess having a favorite son coach the club is not the worst option. Its fair to say that he has a reasonable list so will be interesting to see how he goes.

So the players will pretty much coach themselves with Mickan to act in a 'supervisory' role...

got a text this evening while still at work saying ''i told you so'' i queried it ''Mickan is coach'' i replied i thought you told me ''no thanks'' i was then told ''no i didn't'' so i presume i didn't hear properly when listening & watching a race at the same time
anyway West could not have got a better person to take over from Andy Collins , good luck to Rubbers'
