Who will coach West?
I have to laugh at people saying they've got 'inside info' on who's favoured for this job.
The answer is that the process has just got under way, candidates will be evaluated and no-one is 'favourite' or has the inside running.
Who do you think will get it?

Who do you think, redandblack?
Someone like Greg Mellor or perhaps Peter German?

Re: Who will coach West?
i'll stick with Mark Mickan as the odds on favourite
best 'roughie' is a former South & West player who may apply for the Noarlunga job as well

Would the 'roughie' be Luke Norman, bayman?
I don't know, Phil. I'd say Mark Mickan is obviously a good chance, but there would be several good candidates. I don't know Matthew Slade or Jarrod Cotton at all, but presumably they would bevattractive candidates.
I believe Greg Mellor is happy at Richmond, but he would have been a very good choice. Micky Godden is at the Eagles, otherwise I'd be chasing him at a hundred k's an hour.

I'd be happy to give Slade a go, much more so that Cotton or any of the other names being put forward. Loved the way he went about his footy as a player and hopefully it carries over into a coaching career.
Sometimes it's dangerous territory for a former player to return to their club as coach for various reasons - I don't think 'Gods' would even contemplate a return to West.

But does Rubbers want to coach again?
He was working full time with West as their Footy Ops Manager but quit mid-season, didn't he?
I think he wanted to spend more time with his young family, from memory?

He has applied and will be interviewed, I believe.
Not sure if that means he's on the radar any more than any other applicant, though.

thanks for that, if i were West i'd be using Chambo's suggestion & let the Crows pay the balance of his pay with the 50 largeredandblack wrote:He has applied and will be interviewed, I believe.

Re: Who will coach West?
i heard this again today with the proviso that if Jarman got the job Wundke from South would move there too, this i found very hard to believe given Wundke left North when Jarman was there, yes North had a feast of forwards back thenbayman wrote:is Andrew Jarman on Westies' radar to coach them next year ?

Would it be simpler if Jars just went to South?bayman wrote:i heard this again today with the proviso that if Jarman got the job Wundke from South would move there too, this i found very hard to believe given Wundke left North when Jarman was there, yes North had a feast of forwards back thenbayman wrote:is Andrew Jarman on Westies' radar to coach them next year ?
