Mickan vs Massie
Is it fair to say that replacing Mark Mickan with Kris Massie has proven to be the wrong decision at Glenelg, or do you feel that Massie deserves another year to work with the squad?

Re: Mickan vs Massie
the bloke that sacked Mickan isn't there anymore, it was a poor knee jerk reaction to a flogging, statistically we are now in the worst period in the history of the club
no doubt Massie will not have his contract renewed..imho he's lost any faith the players had in him & the way they go out there & just give up (not today actually) shows they have little or no respect for him, i asked a player several weeks ago whether we have a game plan because i don't understand what they are trying to do & the answer was ''not really''
imho Glenelg need an EXPERIENCED coach

As an outsider I would agree with R&B's answer.
They got flogged by that years eventual premier on there deck and bye bye rubbers

No they didn't - I think it was after Central defeated them. And it was also at Elizabeth.

For me Mickan is a formidable opponent in terms of plotting other teams demise.
Massie I am not so sure.

So it wasn't the game that the commentator said the witches hats would put up a better effort than Glenelg did at Woodville !!
Mikan was scouting at the Eagles Dogs seconds game last week he left before the league started

Would Mickan go back? Would Glenelg want him back?

he can come back
but I would imagine whenever he drives past the oval he glances over and has a giggle to himself at the situation

Reminiscent of the Merv Keane sacking in some ways.

My mistake He was sacked after they got flogged by the Dogs at Elizabeth, on Monday 20th June 2011-The premiers that year were the Eagles. My apologies.
The Bays finished 5th that year.

Heard a suggestion tonight that the Bays CEO has resigned, Hodgy has resigned, and the Bistro / Gaming Manager has left too.
Anyone know if this is right?
If true is this creating space to cut Massie?
Is it the last bloke out, please lock up or something?
But seriously, if these departures are true it would be quite a concerning situation.

i haven't heard anything regarding that Chambo (doesn't mean it isn't true) but i do know there was a meeting last night with the coach, some senior players & some (if not all) board members, it wasn't any secret meeting etc because a friend of mine was there eating near their table & saw them chatting

Re: Mickan vs Massie
AS a matter of interest, how long has he held the position, was he popular and was he doing a good job?
Nothing bad intended by asking
Bayman, any thing on that.

i have only read the same things you have so i can't add to it, the only query i have is that R. Nelson doesn't seem to stay in the same job for very long, whether he burns out or what i don't know
