SANFL Junior Format

The SA Under 16's beat Vic Metro yesterday by about 20 goals. Yes, you read it correctly, 20 goals.

The SA Under 18's won the Championship, as we know.

I think it's time to declare that the shift to Under 18's and Under 16's, from the old 17's and 19's, has been a resounding success.

Hard to say because the 17's and 19's might have had the same results. Not that it matters.

I havent known anyone for years that has had any issue with the change. I think its been fairly well accepted that the competition runs 16's and 18's without any/many batting an eyelid.

Incredible results for both levels in recent weeks which is fantastic to see.

This reignites a debate FB that I think neither of us will agree upon.
So best left alone I think.

For me, one season a swallow does not make.

I just look at all the kids with promise that are lost to my club that we could have retained for at least another year. I see a couple burning up the turf for Rostrevor Old Boys now.

Ah well. The current system is not going to revert back, so it doesn't matter. Progress I guess.
