firstly one horse had a heart attack (fibulation i think is the correct term) that could happen anywhere & at anytime, while the other horse broke a hind leg in an accident, i can tell you that everyone concerned with the horses were visibly upset & saddened by the incident as i was as well......lets ban cars because there are accidents, lets ban aircraft, lets ban football, rugby, soccer etc etc as there are accidents, the only thing i'd ban is war

To think we live in this world with these cowards makes me cringe.

Last weekend, was taking the tram down to Glenelg, and this guy in the seat opposite us not only had his mate on speaker, he was on video call and was showing her around the tram

There are some disgraceful human beings in this world.
Another shocking thing I read this week was the domestic violence victim in the UK who had her eyes gouged out. Absolute disgrace.
Offender should be sentenced to life imprisonment with solitary confinement.

TT and ACA are as bad as each other for this. If they're not pumping their own shows, they're bagging the oppositions shows.
As Media Watch put it, 'If you can't beat them, bag them'

Kids and their speeding fines...
(hopefully this doesn't come back and bite me on the bum..lol)
I am so sick of seeing 'kids' - 17 to 20 year olds - complaining fiercely on facebook about...
"Oh my god I've just got an $800 speeding fine - kill me now" or the likes...
Simple - DONT SPEED !!
Steps down from soapbox

Proud to say I've never received a fine for a traffic infringement in nearly 15 years of driving. It ain't rocket science.

that's where everything is going wrong in the country because whether you agree or disagree with him surely he is entitled to an opinion, afterall it is supposed to be a free country

He was free to say it.
His station is free to suspend him.
I support them suspending someone who thinks adults and children seeking refuge should drown.
He appeals to the worst instincts of easily led people.

he obviously wasn't FREE to say it because it cost him a suspension, counselling etc ....by the way i don't agree with it, i was just making a point that if anyone has a point that contradicts society standards or is politically incorrect they get howled down in a FREE country
ps, obviously he was stupid in the first place

Saying he hoped people would drown is inappropriate and thoroughly deserving of his suspension.

Re: What's Not
Sorry, Bayman, I disagree with your fundamental point.
There's no such thing as 'free speech'. What free speech we have comes with responsibilities. There are slander laws in place, but in this case there's just a difference between decency and racist nastiness.
I make some allowances for Bob Francis, as he's not very bright, but in this case he abused his privileged position of being able to broadcast to thousands of people and is lucky to get off with a cushy suspension.
Apart from that, how's things, Bayman, look forward to seeing you at the next Bay game WEsties have.

This is correct. We've just seen a 20 year Collingwood member suspended by the club for racist comments at a football game. Freedom of Speech, like everything else, has its boundaries and responsibilities. You simply cannot say whatever you please in society.

Exactly. It's free as long as you are prepared to cop the consequences that come with it.

I get abused , cut off and tailgated on the roads these days, but its my fault for sticking to the 60km speed limits. When I used to drive closer to 70kms, I didnt have these problems

Yes, the pressure that is on you with drivers up you a** is getting terrible.
Just think , if they hit you they are in the wrong
Tailgating needs to be policed more !!!

With tailgating, just keep gently breaking all the time, they'll soon drop off behind you.

Re: What's Not
I've found with tailgating, if you ignore them (i.e. minimise the time you spend looking at them in the rear view mirror), they'll eventually back down. For some reason, I find that this works nearly all the time.
