my ABC source tells me that they're off to Elizabeth, this game should be the tv game as it looms as a beauty & it'll definately show how far Port have come, i think Port has the game & players to upset Norwood in what will be a beauty........as for the tv i know with the crowd & atmosphere which game will be a better spectacle to televise

There will a bigger crowd with no TV coverage. Should be a ripper game with Norwood cementing their position at the top.

I see you noticed I didn't say which 'grade' Phil.
Or even which club!

Re: Port V Norwood
Very early season I know but this might just define the season for both sides.
Port win - Shows the win over the Eagles was no lucky pick up in round 1 and will get the two points back we expected to gather at Unley, showing that we are a genuine contender and The Legs are "get-able"
Norwood win - Shows they are the team to beat and makes the rest of the comp really take notice of what they are doing. Puts the Magpies in their place and shows that Port are top 5 and not top 3.
As I said, very early in the season but I think both teams have a lot to gain and lose from this match.
Having said all that, Port at home for the first time in 2012 to win a tight one by 12 points.

I don't think Norwood winning would mean they are the team to beat when the team they had beaten would only have won one game.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion.
I did try and emphasise the fact it is only very early in the season.

Re: Port V Norwood
Norwood skipper Keiran McGuinness was carried off the ground just before the final siren with what looked to be a pretty serious leg or knee injury. Obviously Leg's fans will now wait with baited breath for the prognosis but that would have slightly soured the win no doubt. Nonetheless, an entertaining game that the visitors certainly deserved to win, being the better team on the day.

Re: Port V Norwood
Norwood have a bye next week, so hopefully that's all KMac will need to get himself right. The only thing concerning me right now, apart from KMac, is the possible unsettling effect of AFL selections with so many of our players on the borderline for AFL inclusion.
Still, good start to the season.

Re: Port V Norwood
obviously it was all Norwood early, they played 'champagne football' in the first 12-15 minutes & although given the dominance their lead wasn't substantial at the first break, Port after the break although not polished had scrapped & battled themselves back in the game & seem to have all the momentum in the two middle terms as Norwood appeared sluggish/tired, i thought we'd see a gripping final term that would go down to the wire & i believe that the report on the Norwood player on the outer wing (can't remember who it was) who in an attempt to spoil had 'clotheslined' the Port player who also got a 50 metre penalty (not sure that was on though), the Port player missed & straight up the other end for a goal & i think this was the catalyst for the Norwood revival & the opposite for Port as they dropped their heads in disappointment
Norwood very polished & have forwards like Newton, Warren & maybe Jericho (did not play)to kick goals so they're obviously going to be dangerous.
Port needs to find forwards to finish off the up field work, they aren't brilliant skill wise but the work rate & endeavour is very good
as for the crowd i reckon they were close to 6,000 which is a great result given what they were up against on the tv & may've got 10,000 if there was no Adelaide team playing in the AFL today

Re: Port V Norwood
Port certainly missed Luke Harder today, wins his own footy and can be dangerous in front of goal. Apparently, he has a knee concern that may see him out of the side for a while.
According to Daniel Norton on the 5AA SANFL Show, there was just under 4,800 at Alberton today. It did feel like a 6K crowd though.

Re: Port V Norwood
We're hearing everything from knee to ankle at the moment. Bound to be a day or two before some exact news filters through from the professional medics.
Can’t fault your write-up ‘bayman’. Very accurate indeed.
Norwood would much prefer Kmac back a.s.a.p., but thanks to our current depth, I truly believe we are capable of continuing our current form without him, if required. I rank Port pretty even with Centrals at the moment so next week’s match between them should be an absolute belter! Both metaphorically and literally!
As for Norwood supporters, it’s time to take a bottle from the top shelf …..CHEERS !!!
