Pigeon Racing !!!!

almost every week i hear about pigeon racing & what time they released them & from where

does anyone know anything about this sport ?

also do any predators get them or do they fly in a flock to avoid this ?

so does anyone know or indeed race pigeons ?

I just somehow think that the internet and mobile phones have consigned the humble carrier pigeon to obscurity.

I guess the purists are still at it.

Just wish the friggin' pigeons that invade my verandah would bugger off somewhere else. Make a hell of a mess and I'm forever dismantling their nests this time of year.
