Sturt v Eagles, Round 23, Sunday Sept 2
Sturt are thinking and talking about next year now. The Eagles, at least for the first third of the season, seemed to be thinking about last year. Incredibly, they could even drop this game and still make the five, if the Bays copped a hiding from Norwood and then lost to South.
I'd expect Sturt to be putting young players in important positions, and the Eagles to capitalise with their strength, experience and motivation.

By the way, it was pleasing to see an open free flowing match of football. Sure, mistakes were made, but at least there were not many rolling scrums and three or four defenders by themselves almost every time the ball went inside 50.
