Round 20: Centrals v West - Saturday 11 August 2012 @ Playford Alive Oval
V
Saturday 11 August
Playford Alive Oval
Reserves: 11:25am
League: 2:10pm
Broadcast: ABC1
Both sides are coming off the bye, but prior to the bye Centrals were inconsistent in a win over Glenelg while West suffered a shock loss to North. Will Centrals notch up another home win, or will West notch up a rare win for a visiting side at Elizabeth?

West will lose Daniel Webb, but presumably gain Ezard, Caruso and Caire.
Perhaps also a chance for either Peter Nelson to debut, or Marc Borholm to come in.
The relevant training regimes might be a factor, too, but Central rarely lose at Elizabeth and West haven't troubled them there for a long time.

Scott Bricknell and Joel Tippett also out with suspension. Kurt Thompson may play his first game of the year.

One of the closest games you'll ever see...
...Central by 10 goals.

West's last win at Elizabeth was back in 1999, I think?
What is the situation with Webb - he always seems to trouble Central with the right match up?

Central don't lose at home especially from August onwards & they will be sending a message to West (and Norwood) this week & win very very easily despite any defensive tactics dished up....for the punters 40+ the way to go

Ripped his pectoral muscle off the bone.
Out for the season and may have played his last game for West.

That would be a pity. West have given him a lot all through his junior footy and plenty of opportunity at senior level.
He's a terrific lad and has such great potential, so I'm sure he'll want to give the Bloods the rewards of reaching that potential.
Then again, promising young players get a lot of advice from different quarters, some good and a lot bad.
I'm confident he'll take the responsibility of fulfilling his potential at Westies and not be swayed by any poor advice.
His injury is serious and all the best to him for a quick recovery.

Best of luck to Daniel with his operation.
West need him badly as he is real key to us in the coming yrs.
The club needs to find a ruckman next yr and let Webby play key forward for the whole yr

West have a good side and could worry the Bulldogs. However, it's just so hard to tip against Central at the Pondarosa, so it's Central by 11 points.

West looked pretty good today. Certainly the final score flattered Central with junk time goals getting their score up at the end.

The Bloods were fantastic today the best win by the them for the year considering they went into the game
without Webb,Hartlett, Tippett and Bricknell.
Led by 8 goals with 7 minutes to go
There ball use and quick movement of the footy was the best it has been all yr.
I also liked the game of debutant ruckman Peter Nelson
Injuries have hit the club in the past few weeks with Webb and Newton out for the year plus
Kirk & Rankine didn't play in the ressies
without Webb,Hartlett, Tippett and Bricknell.

Yeah, I've seen him progress nicely in the reserves over the last 2 seasons and thought he was impressive in his first league game today.lachlan wrote:I also liked the game of debutant ruckman Peter Nelson
Also provided the highlight of the day with that missed running shot on goal inside 50 !!!
