I wonder how the umpires will go with this extra layer of scrutiny.

Re: Dogs on big screen
Norwood had a big screen behind the parade end goals on friday night but all it had was the word 'Goal' when Norwood kicked a goal and I think some advertisements for Coopers.

Re: Dogs on big screen
didn't i see a 'big screen' at Norwood last friday ? however it was pointless & whoever copied the footy park garbage to real footy people who don't need to be told to cheer or it's a goal etc needs to have a re think.....with this case with the abctv being there it is worth a punt to see what happens & how it is received

yeah, that rings a bell, as you & 'wadda' has stated & i have a feeling from memory it was a 'smallish screen'.........but in publicity you never let the truth get in the way of a good story

Re: Dogs on big screen
Yes, it was first trialled by the Double Blues, a couple of seasons ago, with a pretty small screen (about the size of one of those trailer signs you see councils use for road works with directional arrows etc) at one of the home games ABC were doing at Unley.
Not sure how big the screen will be that Central are using and not sure how successful it will be given the fact that the Ponderosa is the biggest ground in the League. Well done to the club though for trying to enhance the match day experience for fans.
I know in a press release and email sent to members the club talked about the possibility of having something permanent if this trial is a success and of course if they find sponsors willing to fund the costs involved to set something up on a permanent basis.

I'm sorry to say but the screen at Elizabeth Oval was totally useless, from a distance you just couldn't see anything as it was too small.

I will say that it wasn't too bad from ground level, especially when the play was at the northern end goal area.
Just guessing, but perhaps you might have been at the top of the grandstand, testy?

Found it easy to watch at ground level. It was good to watch when play was down the far end
