Word of the day Empty Word of the day

Post by Brucetiki Wed Jun 20, 2012 9:40 pm

Fans of Letters and Numbers would have learned about the longest word in the English language today, so we'll use that to kick off the Talking Footy SA's 'Word of the Day'

Floccinaucinihilipilification - the estimation of something as valueless (encountered mainly as an example of one of the longest words in the English language).

I hope you think it's a worthy place and isn't regarded in a floccinaucinihilipilification sort of way.

Why use a big word, when a diminutive one will do. Very Happy

Recalcitrant.

Love that word (Mr Keating first told me about it in the 1990's).

Floccinaucinihilipilificaton in use Laughing - on the New Zealand Wheel of Fortune (which interestingly used the Australian Celebrity Wheel of Fortune theme)
