Admission price up.
It's reported that admission is to rise from $14 (?)to $17.
I'd drop it to $10.
Stand by for even lower crowds. These are decisions made by those who watch games from the catered comfort of the SANFL Committee Room.

Thanks.
Ridiculous, as there are always so many free tickets given out.

Re: Admission price up.
the conspiracy theorist in me thinks that as they up the price & the crowds dwindle to Sheffield Shield type of attendances, then the excuse is there's no real interest anymore & an aflsa u/23 comp evolves from the sanfl, it'll be the same clubs but there'll be NO 150 game players anymore & probably NO 100 game players either
or i could look at it this way, the prices have gone up so those that still go end up paying for those that have stopped going
eg
if 1000 people went at $10.00 a head & the gate gets $10,000.00
10 years later the crowds have dropped off by 50%
500 people are paying $20.00 a head & the gate gets $10,000.00
simplistic yes, but i think the point is made clear

It's a fact that of a crowd of 2000, probably about 400 buy a ticket at the gate.

Re: Admission price up.
It would be interesting to know whether sanfl has done any modelling around the gate revenue generated by club memberships vs pay at the gate patrons.
IE What do they need to make it work?
Most of the game day revenue would be through memberships, and they should have a pretty good idea what that adds up to each year.
I just don't see any innovative thinking come out on raising the 'pay at the gate' interest generally for the more casual attendee.
In Bayman's prophecy of an U23 style comp, you would think that players drawn to that would be hoping of an outside chance at the AFL or a return to the AFL.
Even then, once an AFL dream is over, why stay in an U23 comp. They'd be off to country or wherever the reward is highest. That makes for a very transient playing list and maybe not even retain club members' interest.
