Admission Prices to SANFL
Is it true there going up again to $14 per adult? It doesnt effect me being a club member, but i know plenty of people that think this is pushing the friendship too far and will attend local SAAFL games instead. Can anybody confirm this & what increases there have been over the last few years.

$14.00 I am hearing. (99.9% sure its that.)
They are really pushing the boundries with the price with me.
I think $10.00 is pretty fair. IMO.
Add car parking at Noarlunga $4-5.00 plus a drink, raffle ticket, food.....all adds up. Especially with people tightening their belts at the moment.
I think if you can get out of it spending $20.00 your doing really well

To much in my opinion, hate to say it but some games are worth more than others. Perfect weather on a Friday night with scent atmosphere is worth it but not the middle of winter game with a few thousand on a Saturday afternoon.
$10 was a good price.
$10 was a good price.

It's pushing it a little, but it's better to buy a membership with a season ticket which makes it cheeper per game.

Yeah, it will be $14.00, which I think is probably $4.00 too much IMHO.

I agree completely. In fact I logged on to spread the same message. Remember that when you buy a season ticket through your own club, all the money goes directly to your club. Plus memberships at all SANFL clubs are pretty good value for money and the more members the stronger the clubs and the stronger the competition. I'm certainly urging all Sturt supporters to get on board.MightyEagles wrote:It's pushing it a little, but it's better to buy a membership with a season ticket which makes it cheeper per game.

In the WAFL last year I think it cost me $14 to see the last minor round game between Sth Freo and East Freo but I got a free budget and a newspaper included in the price.
The SANFL should include a free Budget as well for $14

Re: Admission Prices to SANFL
hasn't it gone from $10.00 to $12.00 and now $14.00 in 3 or 4 years ?
as most of you know i like going to neutral games when Glenelg aren't playing, i'm one of the lucky ones as being a single father i have a concession ticket & no money problems, however for others like me that like to watch footy & go to neutral games this will be pinching the pocket way too much............
there was once a time when it was a game for the people
the cynic in me thinks the league is upping the price to help pay for Ports bailout
there was once a time when we could gloat about our attendances but this hike will stop the ones that 'hum & har'' about going on match day, it will stop some of the neutrals going & it will stop those that can't afford it & with these reasons our crowds will dwindle & die & the league will wonder why & off course when you lose them they don't come back
WAKE UP DARREN BEFORE THE AFL PICK UP THE PIECES OF WHAT IS A GREAT COMPETITION AT THE MOMENT BUT DWINDLES INTO OBSCURITY
btw i am a season ticket holder of Glenelg

Re: Admission Prices to SANFL
I think the League are stuffing it up by increasing admission prices the way they are.
I believe that the SANFL should be trying to keep the prices at around $10 or $12 because as the AFL prices increase the SANFL needs to become a more affordable option. The product of the SANFL is ok, the umpiring is better then the AFL, but reduce admission prices.
SUrely by seeing how slow the retail sector has been will have a flow on affect on the number of people attending games as the disposable income is used elsewhere.
Out of interest does anyone have membership numbers from the clubs that are upto date and how they compare with last years figures?

Oh come on guys. The increase is less than 1/2 a beer. $14.00 is still pretty good value for a full afternoon's entertainment compared to many other sports.
That's my $0.02c worth.

$14 yet the kids get in for free, that is still a pretty good deal IMO if you are taking the young ones along with you!

Re: Admission Prices to SANFL
i should have added that
i know there is season tickets etc but bear with me for this exercise
4,000 paying $10.00 ($40,000) at the gate
3,000 paying $14.00 ($42,000) at the gate
so for a fraction more in revenue you could stop 1,000 people a week who for one reason or another wont or can't go, they then lose interest then support ceases altogether & our crowds dwindle
meaning surely ''bums on seats'' is the better option ?
ps, what did the SACA do for the one day final ? made it free & the people came as they can make a day/night family outing & i'll bet some of those that were there that night were there for the first time & the SACA will get them back, the SANFL have to be smarter & think of the family dollar given the current economic state the country is in which in course flows down to the household

Disappointed with the price rise because a lot of people are doing it tough at the moment and this will turn some fans away.
Still think it's good value though. I take this kids to Richmond, they get in for free, cost me a few dollars at the canteen and spend all afternoon having fun with their mates and on the jumping castle.
Can't do that at AFL or the cricket.

I have been to Richmond on a Free Ticket as a promotion by the club, think that this kind of initiative will be a good option for clubs to have a look into, did not seem to hurt attendances at Richmond anyway!

While I would quite happily pay $50.00 per game if security was increased to the point where the league could guarantee
arresting Fort Battle-Axe if she attempted to enter the ground and ruin my weekend, I consider $14.00 a hopeless and
idiotic increase, typical of those currently in charge.
Those of us who ‘pony up’ the dough in advance with a season ticket should be able to get into other matches when our
club has a bye. It’s not our fault the league’s stupidity since 1990 has caused a bye every week. I begrudgingly paid full
entry to other games on the 4 or so weekends my team had byes when the price was $10 or less, but never again.
Certainly not at FOURTEEN bloody dollars !
I’m still getting over forking out $10.00 for a can of drink at the Noarlunga trial match last week !
Mind you, I’m still just getting over a schooner going from 25 to 27 cents back in the early 70’s !!!
Why are those of us who want to see a game every week discriminated against? Going to neutral games during a bye round
for our own club meant we were still putting very good coin into opposition coffers through food, drinks, pokies and raffles
every damn week. Even if the league increased the price of the season ticket just a little to gain entry every week, I would
still somewhat happily, go to other club’s matches during my bye rounds and spend plenty. But there’s now no way in hell I’m
gonna pay $14.00 just to get in when it’s not even my team playing !
No doubt about it, the current regime at (d!ck) headquarters have killed
the goose that grunts and squeezes out the 24 carat bumnuts!
Makes you wonder about un-AFL involvement doesn’t it ?
The writing is on the wall and it reads ….. ADMISSION : Adults - $ 14.00
Luv,
Sabre.

@Bobbafet "Oh come on guys. The increase is less than 1/2 a beer. $14.00 is still pretty good value for a full afternoon's entertainment compared to many other sports"
So if it goes up to $16 next year you'll say the same thing?
@MustangPete "The SANFL should include a free Budget as well for $14."
Not a bad idea, but i reckon there will be Budgets letft everywhere on the ground for people that dont want them..ie a waste of resources.
I've got a bad feeling people are going to pay there $50 foxtel footy package and not go as much to SANFL or like i said before go to local SAAFL and spend there $14 on a steak sanga & beer..you cant tell me SANFL is 14x better standard than Div 1 ammies.
Put it back to $10 and there be no excuse not to go Darren.

Sabre,
i use my season ticket pass on the weekends Glenelg have the bye, (been doing that for numerous years) i got chatted once & refused entry at the ANZAC day clash last year when a female security official said ''you can't use this ticket as they aren't playing' i pleaded the case that fell on deaf ears, i then went to the other gate, had the ticket 'clicked' & walked in........................i have heard Darren Chandler say on the radio that the league is happy for people using such tickets at neutral games, which is obviously common sense

Thanks for that info ‘bayman’. Now I’m REALLY P!SSED OFF !
A few years ago I too used my Norwood Season Ticket to get into other grounds during a bye, but last year
I was told by a number of officious league redcoats that my Season Ticket was only good for Norwood games.
I don’t blame the staff, it’s those at the top who are responsible for disseminating the correct information to the troops.
What the hell is going on at West Lakes ?
It would seem that the current mob are turning incompetence into an art form !
What are the chances of me being reimbursed for the full gate prices I had to pay last year ???

Are we able to get that checked with Darren Chandler and have it applied to the gate officials if it is a goer?
R&B are you able to do a follow up with him on that?
Surely this is not a hard issue to get a decision on.
