Who do we all vent our thoughts to bayman?

i'll be sending it to the sanfl, they can send it to whoever it needs it to go to, a letter or email should get a reply just out of courtesy if nothing else......anyway i won't be listening to either the abc or 5aa

this article below is out of todays paper

RADIO SILENCE (Ben Hook, Sun Aug 30)

After 25 years behind the microphone, SANFL radio broadcasters RPH Adelaide won't call the 2015 final following a dispute over funding with the league and may never cover the SANFL again.

Ten days ago RPH Adelaide and Life FM were advised by the SANFL that their weekly fee ($600) would not be paid for any of the finals series.

Both station were made aware by a generic group email.

Life FM opted to continue with their call to meet sponsorship commitments despite station boss Michael Chant describing the decision as "disapointing".

RPH Adelaide boss Hans Reimer told the SANFL last Friday his station wouldn't go to air without the funding. SANFL officials met with Reimer on Monday to broker a deal, but would only offer funding for the first two weeks of the finals.

Reimer reaffirmed on Wednesday RPH would not cover any finals and have confirmed their last game is today's Port v West clash.

SANFL General Manager of Football Adam Kelly said the hefty expenses associated with 7's coverage weren't a factor.

"We've had every game of the home and away season available for the first time through our app."
Kelly said.

"That comes at a cost and we have directed some funding."

All over a measly $600 a week.

What damage will be done if say the stations say bugger it and there is no coverage next year?

Is Donald Trump in charge of PR at the sanfl?

$600 per station over 4 weeks = $4800

We could've induced a melee at one of the games last weekend to cover the broadcast costs Laughing

Round 18 of West v Norwood and Round 19 of South v Centrals, both telecast on television, drew 13,000 viewers. This makes four of the last six games with 14,000 viewers or less, with a total fall of average viewers in 2015 of 22% from 2014.

I love listening to 5RPH, yet I would also back them in telling the SANFL where they can go and shove their football coverage for next season. As stated above they have stuck by the SANFL for 25 years - I recall Lindsay Backman being on the commentary team there. They are being treated like absolute s**t by the SANFL and they might as well go focus their scant resources on the Adelaide 36'ers.

One might think that if the f*&^wits that run the SANFL get the message that they get no coverage next year they may well wake up to themselves, but after the way we have seen the SANFL competition dragged into the ground this season I wont be holding my breath waiting...

I reckon both 5AA and ABC used to do the first two weeks of finals before, but because it clashes with Sunday AFL (last round and 1st week of finals) they won't. Had the season been in it's usual time frame...

Life FM's call was pretty dire in my opinion. Doug Oakley was at his usual tangential best talking about anything other than the game. Two minutes before the game starts and there's a discussion with Daniel Kirk about the U18s. Might be an idea to present some analysis of the 2nd Semi Final you're about to watch.
It was absolutely impossible to get an idea of how the ball was moving around the ground. It's insanely frustrating.  And generally I thought the calling was unenthusiastic. Chris Kendall was wasted on the boundary. Bizarre that Oakley would call a game ahead of him.

the idea is a good one but will take a while to bed down plus wonder how many games it would be used for if there are two radio stations as well as online radio. also depends how many different callers there are that can do normal radio and online radio.

Much more enjoyable call by Life FM today, and a good balance of crowd atmosphere and commentary.

if 5RPH & Lifefm decide to say stuff you, we're not broadcasting from next year what will they be thinking then ?

Tuned into 5DribbleA after midday as they were the SANFL finals station,(although I intended to listen to the Life FM broadcast,) all we got was a rehash of yesterdays afl match and the crows woes, so I gave them the flick.

I vowed I would not tune into DribbleA's call as they couldnt give a stuff about SANFL footy, changed to Life's call, listened to some good music until they started their broadcast of the game, I thought they could have had a bit more indepth preview of the game, but thats community radio.

Let your footy friends know about 5RPH and Life FM call of the Grand Final and help send 5DribbleA and Dribble M back into obscurity where they have been all year.

Thanks for the feedback, LIFE FM did go to air 1.55pm yesterday.
That was 45 minutes before the game started.

Next Sunday for the Grand Final it should be a 1pm start giving time for a 70 min preview.

5RPH wont be calling the Grand Final next week, mate...

After the SANFL decided to not offer RPH any financial incentive to call the finals, RPH called their last game of 2016 in Round 19...

Will be interesting to see what happens with the broadcast situation next year...

I can't stand John Casey.

"*Insert player name* goes to work"

"*Insert player name* gets a user friendly bounce"

He's a terribly repetitive caller. He's a terribly repetitive caller.

They broadcast the SANFL all season , this sort of loyalty is commendable , and thats why I tuned in to their call
