The link on that other forum shows it's unavailable, is it closed permanently? If so, why do they still have a link?

The previous West fans' forum was owned by another forum.

An owner of that forum didn't like some of the content critical of another team, so he threatened to close it down. He edited posts of a site moderator without his knowledge to do so.

The West fans decided they didn't wish to be censored and immediately started the new one.

The other forum decided to still link to the defunct old forum only.

They're entitled to make that decision, even if it seems petty.

Fortunately with the new forum we can still be critical of that other team without the former owner being so precious, poor thing.

I used to make a donation to that other forum, (under a different username), it wasn't much just a few $, but that wasn't enough according to them and was asked to donate more by one of the Admins. That's when i decided to get the hell out of there. It seems they are only out to line their own pockets.
Well done to you Westies folk for standing up to them.

I paid for advertising for 2 years there also, when it struggled early.

I was also told it wasn't enough.

I'm still banned there, presumably for helping start this forum
