Saints have been in denial about a lot of things since 2010 GF IMO, including how good they actually are. It's kinda like the Crows, why have so many good players left over the last 2 or 3 years?

Too many clubs are unable to distance themselves from sentiment toward long term club greats to move on them. Porplyzia and Thompson fit that bill. It's a fine juggling act for clubs to increase their position in the draft at the expense of such popular players, but they need to do it. In fairness to the Saints they did move Goddard and Dal Santo, although the latter should have gone sooner and they probably should have moved players like Montagna, Milne and Koschitzke also. Sam Fisher and Sam Gilbert are others that would have held stock post 2010 for a while. Yet I would have thought McKevoy would have been one worth retaining.
