The Football Budget, again
It contained about the least amount of text ever since probably the 70s budgets, mostly adverts - and that's saying something
Also, you may have noticed the front cover where it mentions 220 players and 10 teams. Of course the SANFL still has 21 players per side, which makes 210 players.

I'm surprised they didn't jack it up by a dollar this year, if they did, then I would not have bought it

Was pretty thin. I would have thought a season preview or team summary over a couple of pages wouldn't have hurt.

Subscribed to this from 1995 - 2011 but then saved myself $150 every year by reading it occasionally (very occasionally) online.

Good one from this week Adam Hartlett 50th game. He is still suspended but plays next week

They actually didn't have any to serve at Unley as they sold a lot more than they were anticipating, with the 20 odd thousand people at Adelaide Oval and The Bay alone, last weekend...bayman wrote:sold out at Unley last week

very glad the budget has gone back in the last two weeks to give enough room to put quarter by quarter scores in for the reserves, i can't believe they didn't have it in from the start of the season just like every other year............
for those that have this weeks budget & with respect to him, i say have a look at one of the kids names playing today at Noarlunga in the mini league, playing for ''South''

I was thinking "A Boy Named Sue" .... Johnny Cash?? I suspect my age, not to mention my hillbilly background, is showing again.bayman wrote:countrycousin wrote:Could have been "Sue" I suppose.bayman wrote:very glad the budget has gone back in the last two weeks to give enough room to put quarter by quarter scores in for the reserves, i can't believe they didn't have it in from the start of the season just like every other year............

Re: The Football Budget, again
Bought my first Budget for this year at Sturt v North on the weekend after not buying it since 2013.
Seems to be a bit more in it than what I remember a few years ago, changed the look up a bit as well. What are peoples thoughts or does anyone not buy it at all?

I agree, some good articles last week.
Welcome to the forum, bomber14.
I see we scored a nice mention in the article about social media and Adam Hartlett, with 'Ask Harts'.

Looking at it now there are certainly some interesting first names floating around these days...
Tarkyn, Jet, Bodhi, Reyne, Klae, Kaleb, Koopa just to name a few.
And of the 80 or so names on there not a single John or Tom!
What happened to the classics?

Re: The Football Budget, again
Eagles Reserves list against Port last weekend had
4 Jacks - Hayes, Enright, Elsworthy, Firns aswell as Jackson Press.
There were also 2 Joseph's - Sinor & Heinjus,
3 Jakes - Von Bertouch, Summerton & Westbrook &
Jacob Templeton.
Will be a commentators nightmare if these blokes all play league one day.

The Budget must be getting light on for sponsors - I saw no less than 6 ads for the Chimney unveiling in today's Budget...

If I was a businessman I doubt if I would advertise in it, with a distribution of about 3,000 per week, why would one bother.
