North Mascot In Trouble?
Storm in a tea cup or do South have every right to be annoyed?
Good marketing work by the Roosters, though...

I suppose North can now expect a flood of membership enquries from residents of Noarlunga now.
What a load of cobblers.

Definitely a storm in a tea cup!
However..
You can understand why South may be a bit tetchy about this.....
seeing one rival club a few yrs ago was seen selling raffle tickets and memberships at Colonnades..

if south did more work in their own region, other clubs wouldn't grab the chance.
storm in a teacup. they ought to be more worried about the damage to their image with the Fuller issue. .

Re: North Mascot In Trouble?
i got told about this today & have now read the article, obviously South do listen to their member(s) & made imho a 'reluctant noise' about it............at the Prospect stage of the tour Rocket Rooster was there, North players were there signing autographs, the fact RR ran up Willunga Hill who cares ? it wasn't at a South event it was an Australian event & i know 'they're a weird mob' but at least they are trying to do something to entertain the crowd (worldwide) & i reckon just about anyone watching would have been laughing & apart from those that know about the SANFL, would have thought it was some idiot having a bit of fun
i feel sorry for Mr Arnold as it reads to me he felt embarrassed to say anything but felt an obligation to a member
if this is Souths biggest problem for the year they'll go top
will RR front at Noarlunga Oval this year ?

Given all the weirdos you get at the Tour de France, it's a novel concept by North to get Rocket Rooster at the TDU. I wonder if more clubs will do similar next season. I hope so.

I suspect you may be speaking of Sturt (?) I think they had a raffle or some sort of promotional thing going on at the Elizabeth City Centre a few years back. Took some fortitude given the turf and the AFL-centric age, deserved whatever success they had.blueandwhite wrote:Definitely a storm in a tea cup!

I'm not sure what the Panthers are currently doing market themselves down south (or anywhere else!) but if North reckon they've got a shot to draw more fans, particularly to games at Noarlunga, then a bit of healthy competition can't hurt.
But, yeah, goes without saying the TDU's reach goes just a bit beyond our borders so I don't see the issue.
