Famous people that support your SANFL club.

Just a bit of fun but who are famous people, celebs, singers , musicians, politicians etc.... that support your club??

We might all learn something who follows your club in the SANFL.

Off the top of my head :

I know Paul Kelly (singer/songwriter) supporters Norwood and always checks the results. I read his autobiography,

John Swan (Swannie) Jimmy Barnes brother is a Sturt man.

Ernie Sigley (comedian/host) is a South man. Plus Dean Brown , Mike Rann (Pollies).

Gary Sweet (actor) still watches the Bays when in town.

Any others posters would like to mention???

Gary Sweet played some reserves games for the Bays I seem to recall.

SA Hip Hop band The Hilltop Hoods are Sturt fans...

They even include the club in one of their songs...

Rob Lucas watches from the same spot at Richmond most games.

Rob Kerin also seen at West a fair bit.

Ian Chappell was a West Adelaide supporter.

Ian chappell was my boyhood cricket hero. Didn't know this piece of info.
I'll have to find a new hero now!

Went to a breakfast at Sturt last year where Alexander Downer spoke.
He is a Norwood supporter, but tactfully advised that Sturt was not a "hate" club in the Downer household.

Lucky us!

Whilst on a political note, Fran Kelly, perhaps the best political journalist in Australia and Radio National's breakfast host is a passionate North supporter.

Other North supporters are singers Robyn Archer and Beccy Cole (is there a theme there?), actor Paul Cronin, mega millionaire businessman, Basil Sellers, former premier, John Bannon and former Deputy Premier, Ralph Clarke, cricketer Callum Ferguson and legendary Adelaide Oval curator Les Burdett as well as Walkley Award winning newspaper photographer Ray Titus.

Rob Kerin like Rob Lucas and John Olsen are Westies supporters, which is ironic given that Westies traditionally were the Irish Catholic working class club.

I often see actor, Don Barker (ex Homicide) at South games.

Sandy Roberts, Bruce McAvaney, Angela Pippos and Greg Champion are other media people who are staunch Norwood supporters.

Horse trainer John Hawkes is a passionate Glenelg supporter, I think his father played for the Bays. Singer Julie Anthony is also a passionate Glenelg supporter, her father definitely played for Glenelg.

Westies link to politicians is amazing.

Steve Georganas is a supporter as well. Rob Lucas often attends Under 18's games as well.

Former Senator Nick Bolkus is another.

Famous horse trainer David Hayes is a Doggies fan...

He played in an Under 19's Premiership for the club as well...

After just visiting the music site I remembered that Jim Keays was an avid Norwood supporter who transferred his allegiance to Melbourne in the AFL when he moved to Melbourne.

Just got me thinking as someone mentioned getting Glen Ridge to help out Sturt. Thought who else out there supports their SANFL clubs.

South also has Amanda Rishworth (ALP pollie)
As someone mentioned Don Barker who is extremely passionate at South games and very vocal (uses his acting skills on voice projection well!!)
Ryan Fitzgerald (Fitzy!!) he even wore a South jumper (cotton) in the Big Brother house! He played for South.
Justice Margaret Nyland (Supreme Court Judge in SA) goes to many games and functions. Very passionate lady for us Southees.

Im not sure if I am correct here (someone might help me) but I think Kamahl (singer) is a South supporter. ???

He was born and raised in the western suburbs and lives at Cheltenham I think. Reckon it could be the prison bars! Not sure.

for the Premier, Ill go Port Adelaide, he likes a drink at the Alberton!

He's not a North supporter. I too would suspect that he is a Port supporter.
