Re: Anzac day game
Well i was Adelaide oval for the 2016 anzac day game
We entered through the eastern gate found a seat by the fence or a few rows up on the eastern side .
Then stadium officials came along and told us no one was permitted on the eastern side of the ground . Unless you were an invited person to something upstairs .
Hopefully at a suburban oval you get a better day than what was delivered
by Adelaide oval . not the game but people in charge need to actually think soccer crowd was not large they took up most of the oval .
So why a SANFL crowd not permitted on one side of the oval why ?

Mickyj, I'm pretty sure this has been explained to you before when you have brought this up, but economics would be the most likely answer for the closing of one half of Adelaide Oval. If a stadium with a capacity of approx 50,000 is only expecting a crowd of 10,000 then there is no need to have the whole stadium open. That way there is no need to staff food outlets and bars on the Western side. No need to pay for security or to pay to clean the toilets and the like.
Hope this goes to help you understand the thinking behind not having the general public on the Eastern side when there would be plenty of room on the Western side to accomodate the expected crowd.

yep it does
but why let the public into that area then have security chase them out
why have the gates open why allow the public into the area .
And why was a small soccer crowd allowed in the entire oval

Surely you're not referring to the A-League Grand Final as the crowd for that game was 50,119

Gee I must have posted that a while ago taken you an age to answer
I think what I was trying to say the Anzac Day game that I attended as an Eagles member. You were allowed to enter in the eastern gate . We sat down on the eastern wing while I went to the men's .
My eldest son was marched out of the eastern side .
The sanfl did not say in any way no signs no staff standing there saying no people allowed .
If they had of told people I wouldn't have posted anything.
Sorry Soccer doesn't rate in my sports viewing SANFL ,AFL, UFC and WWE ohh any fishing shows
Other than that never watch the sports that hold no interest to me .

Which ever soccer game was played at Adelaide oval and the fans were either allowed to sit any place they wished or not behind the goals at the scoreboard end .
I am not picking on soccer
What I was trying to say
A SANFL fans were let in the eastern gate
B sanfl fans sitting on the east side escorted out
C no signs no Adelaide oval staff at those gates saying no sitting
D the exception being some entitled fans in a function
Seeing I have caused problems not what I intended
It was said at the time soccer fans could sit anywhere
Sanfl fans were restricted
That's all
And we came in the eastern gate due to arriving on a bus .

Mickyj,
You are letting this get the better of you. There was a soccer grand final at the end of that week with 50K +. I'm sure seating was allocated. It makes sense to restrict SANFL seating on a low attendance day. Its not like you missed out on a seat that day.

Actually I moved on forgot I posted about it .
Someone raised it again
Hell I have no issue with soccer I find it unwatchable but that's me
Nothing against soccer
Once again I moved on hell if the Adelaide oval staff can not put signs up or not open gates where they don't wish low sanfl numbers to sit that's for them to work out .
once again I posted my reply that was raised again yesterday weeks ago in 2016 .
It's 2017 bring on the SANFL
