SANFL Tipping Competition

Who wants to be the inaugural Talking Footy SA SANFL Tipping Competition winner?

There will be a prize, to be announced when we work out what it is(   ), and we'll start a TFSA Honour Board with the winner's name immortalised!

This forum is all about its posters, so we're calling for volunteers to run it.  If we're not inundated with offers, we'll run it ourselves anyway, but hopefully one or two posters would like to offer their time.

Suggestions for any other competitions are also welcome

Count me in but there is going to have to be some sort of response between now and Friday(or Saturday) if this thing ever gets off the ground.

Alright folks, in the process of setting up the competition, but would like to throw out a few concepts that ESPN Footytips.com.au offer tipping comps.

1. The score for not tipping. We can have it set to 0, the lowest score for the round (which will probably be 0 anyway), or the average score for the round.

My preference is the lowest score, but what do you want?

2. Do we want Joker Rounds - like It's a Knockout, this is where you select up to 5 rounds to be worth double points.

My preference is to have this for 1 round, what would you like?

3. Do we want a bonus points for perfect rounds. We can have up to 5 bonus points for perfect rounds.

My preference is no bonus points, what would you like?

I do have a separate 'unofficial' comp that incorporates AFL, SANFL, VFL and WAFL, but the Talking Footy SA comp is SANFL only.

Anybody else having trouble getting in? Is this comp. exclusive to this forum? My user name and password which has been encrypted in the database is not being accepted. I have been in other comps with different user names and passwords and I notice when I hit the SANFL it comes up with SA Lotteries comp. I hit "talkingfootysa" to get to the next stage and then run into a brick wall.

did you put "talkingfootysa" as the password?

Did you actually click Bruce's link at the bottom of his post?

Yes, I had initial difficulty, but got in OK when I first joined the comp through the headings at the top and then put in the tips that way. (???)

Perhaps Brucetiki could list the procedure step by step.

To enter the TFSA comp, once you're at the site (http://www.footytips.com.au) and logged in, select the 'Comps' tab, and then 'search comp'.

In the search field that comes up, type in 'Talking Footy SA' (make sure the 'only search for public comps' is unticked).

It should then come up with our competition, which you select, enter the password, and you should be in.

NOTE: It does state 'The Official SANFL Tipping Competition', but I think that's because the official comp is run through the site. Don't worry, you're still in our comp, it's just the way SANFL tips appear on the site.

If anyone has any other problems signing up, sing out.

Not a bad response - 15 entrants in a very short space of time. Time for a few more if anyone else wants in.

brodlach scored 2, many got zero and the rest 1.

So far the opening two rounds have been incredibly difficult to predict (who said the SANFL was a boring competition )

This week no one scored a perfect 4, while 3 (sapaul, Brodlach and Embalmer) scored 3.

We also have 2 tipsters who are still yet to get off the mark for season 2012.

What a great night at the Bay Oval on Friday...GFC may have to put on more catering for these nights..the Bar under the scoreboard line was rediculous all night ..they were hoping for 10k and got 6k..if 10k had turned up you would not of got near it.

Still the lights were quite impressive and really enjoyed the game (& the result!)
