Elimination Final - Norwood v Central District
Sunday 12.10pm
Telecast - 7Mate from midday.
Can the reigning premiers bounce back or will the Bulldogs barnstorming run continue?

Centrals are probably the form team of the competition behind the Eagles, and I think will be buoyant to be back in finals action, with their vocal supporters behind them. Norwood were pretty good on the weekend, and if they can bring that same level of intensity, they could be hard to beat. That game however both physically and mentally might have taken a bit out of them. Tough one, but I'll go the Dogs to continue the fairytale for another week at least, by 1 point.

After watching Dogs against us last weekend......
I think they can do it.
Just need to keep that hunger they had and its theirs.

Paul Thomas this weekend will set a post 1990 record for most matches with one club as well as move to 2nd outright for matches played overall.
The top five after this week will be for player total matches:
Tim Weatherald 311 (253 with Sturt, 58 with Norwood)
Paul Thomas 267 (Central)
Justin Cicolella 266 (Eagles)
Jade Sheedy 255 (Sturt)
Brian Haraida 255 (Central)

Norwood have met Central District once in an Elimination Final, in 1993

Difficult match to pick, Central look like some of the spark is returning at the moment, I think they may well win this, Central by 4pts.

Was at that game in 1993
Norwood won by 21 points , Centrals led most of the game
NW 15-11
CD 12-8
Norwood progressed from that Elimination Final to play Woodville West Torrens in the 1993 Grand Final
Norwood won the 3rd quarter in the 1993 Grand Final , which is meant to be the Premiership quarter !
WWT 17-20
NW 7-7
The minor round finish in 1993 was very similar to 2015

Re: Elimination Final - Norwood v Central District
This is almost vertain to be a tight, defensive encounter.
Central have to be given great credit for making the five at the last opportunity and their form has been pretty good along with it.
Roy Laird has them playing a good style, within their limitations, but with great teamwork.
Norwood are certainly not the almost unbeatable team of the last few years, but their structure makes it hard for opposition teams still. They have the big game experience and that is a huge advantage, but their scoring is a little limited and they could run into trouble if Central get a switching game going.
You'd think Norwood, but either result wouldn't surprise.

West will not want the performance of Glenelg from '93 this time

Re: Elimination Final - Norwood v Central District
Looking forward to getting their early and watching this.
I expect a bruising encounter with both teams season on the line.
Centrals by 8 points in a low scoring encounter.
