Nick Stevens Jailed

Eight months seems a very light sentence for the charges given he was found guilty of 3 assault charges. He should be careful about his appeal, he could get his sentence increased.

A low ,dog act; unfortunately I think the sentence is far too lenient..bottom feeding pond scum.

Disgraceful sentence !

Does nothing to show the general public that DV will not be accepted in our society.

He is pure and utter filth ! Hope some people in jail show him how it feels to be a victim of DV! A -Hole!

I wonder if he will expect to be placed in protective custody in jail?

I have to say I find that objectionable. His punishment is the deprivation of his liberty - whether you think it should be for longer or not is another matter. But being subjected to violence in prison is not part of the sentence, and I think it's disturbing that we turn a blind eye to it because we think someone might "deserve" it.

Yeah, I can't say Southee speaks for anyone but him/herself there.

I think you will find her "liberty" has been taken away with mental and physical injuries that will last for a lifetime and needing psychological support for many years to come.

His sentence is just not enough when hers will be a lifetime of pain.

I really do understand your frustration Southee, but we can't be leaving it to prisoners to square the justice ledger.

Sentence not long enough, I feel, but at least he has received jail time...
