Wouldn't be Neill Cross, with his ABC role...

TripleM radio caller Brenton Yates will replace John Casey for the first couple of weeks of the finals, while John is calling basketball championships.

Very good choice, will be excellent. One of the best choices Seven could have made.

Agreed. I know he has been doing his homework, as well, which is good to hear...

Brenton will do his homework & be spot on for calling the game, thankfully the Swans aren't playing or then there would be a excited broadcaster

Re: channel 7
is this a first at SANFL level...Port were ready to run onto the ground at the start of the match tonight & the tv crew asked them to wait until they were ready for them ?

No, Channel 7 advise teams what time they want them to run out. They're a bit flexible, but I'm not surprised.

Excellent to see that Life FM and 5RPH have maintained their commitment to covering SANFL through the finals, as has Channel 7.
Appears that 5AA and ABC Radio have given the idea away so far.
Would be interesting to compare the respective coverage points so far.

I reckon 5AA and ABC radio will jump onboard this week as their is no AFL on Sunday.

ABC and 5AA haven't given it away, they just haven't covered the first 2 weeks of SANFL finals because of the cross-over with AFL finals and their coverage...
Speaking to someone from the ABC 891 team recently, he advised they will almost certainly be covering the SANFL Preliminary and Grand Finals...

Just keep listening to Life FM and 5rph, they have stuck with the SANFL all year, give the others a miss.

Yep, stuff 5AA and ABC 891.
They give scant regard to the SANFL except at finals time when the two AFL teams have dissipated into obscurity,
if I am not at the ground then I will tune into Life FM or 5RPH. I will be at the footy this weekend, that is a certainty. Then again if South lose this week I wont give a stuff about Port and Norwood, I will go out fishing instead.

Re: channel 7
as i've mentioned over the years, i refuse to listen to those that broadcast in a 'token manner', i believe in listening to those that turn up every week & support the whole competition.....granted for those in remote places with no internet then 5AN & Regionals are to be accepted from my point of view

The best part of Ch 7 telecasts is that you can turn the volume down to 0 and enjoy the football. Having to listen to the lop sided Victorian biased commentary spoils the whole experience. For that reason alone I hope Power can come out in front of Hawthorn
